We have a trip coming up in late June. It will be our 7yo grandson, my husband, and myself.

After weeks of consideration, we decided to stay at Tropicana. Our main criteria: close, clean, comfortable beds, reasonable price (ie, the closer to $150, the better). We've stayed at Tropicana several times before, and is my go-to for my solo trips. We've always been pleased, and were excited to see the renovated rooms on this trip. $872 (tax included!) for 5 nights seemed pretty darn fair.

Then, stupid me, I hopped on Get Away Today to look up character dining vouchers. Decided to "prove" to myself that GAT couldn't beat the military rate at Tropicana... and up popped Del Sol for $785. I'll admit we like a good deal, and the price difference has us questioning our choice of Tropicana. TripAdvisor reviews for Del Sol appear reasonable--biggest complaint seems to be the meager breakfast; there's not many recent pictures, but the few that are there appear fine. I know I see people say it's "fine," and "okay" here on the Dis, but I'm not finding actual reviews of it.

We have no problem staying at the level of a Super 8 or such on vacation. Local to Disneyland, we've stayed at Tropicana, Park Vue, Desert Inn and Suites, Super 8 on Katella, and Stovall's. We were pleased with all of these except for DI&S (the beds were too hard, there were multiple billing issues, I got folliculitis and a chemical burn from their hot tub, and wasn't impressed with the staff).

So, I need actual reviews, pretty please! I need to know everything--great, good, neutral, bad, terrible. I have a bit of anxiety trying new motels, which is making it difficult to choose to change lodging!

I'm going to piggy back! We are staying there June 19-25th! (If you're there over the same dates...HI!) We also got a screaming deal through Getawaytoday.

Have you joined the June check-in? :) There's a pretty good bunch of us for June!
It seems like a great deal at Del Sol, but I'm still leary!

We stayed at the Del Sol a while back(like 6-7 years ago), and it wasn't bad at all. The breakfast was pretty lame, just pastries and cheap juice. I would stay there again, but would plan on not having breakfast there.

Del Sol was fine for us.....but nothing to be impressed by. Breakfast was not very good. Room was clean but definitely showing its age. Beds were ok. Best part for us was the short walk, and we could sleep 5 with the bunk bed rooms. We probably won't stay there again. We will pay more to stay at a little bit nicer place on Harbor.

Stayed there multiple times - it's basic accommodation. Rooms are clean, staff have been friendly. The lower rooms can be a bit noisy so I recommend asking for a top level one. It's very close to the parks. The breakfast is very simple - cornflakes/fruit loops, toast, waffles, donuts. We like it for the price and location- we spend max time in the parks so just looking for somewhere to sleep!

I have stayed at the Del Sol 3 different times, The rooms are clean and big enough for our groups. The breaky is small, toast, cereal, donuts and some sort of fruit. I think they also had waffles to put in the toaster etc. My thinking is if we do use the breaky room it is just an extra I don't count that as what I am paying for.

We are tossing between staying at the Tropicana or the Del sol in August, I am thinking of giving the Tropicana a trip just for something different.

Not sure if the link will work but this is my review I posted on trip advisor with a couple of photos. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Re...s-Anaheim_Del_Sol_Inn-Anaheim_California.html

I stayed at the Del Sol October 2016. It was fine. My room was under construction, so each day I'd come back to something fixed or changed. That annoyed me a little. And it was an adjoining room, which meant I could hear the parties (two nights), the late arrivals who opened a beer and listened to tv at 12:30am (I ended up waking up and repeating, "SHUT UP! TURN DOWN THE TV! SERIOUSLY? I'M TRYING TO SLEEP HERE!" for 20 minutes til they finally went to sleep. I was NOT quiet at 6:30 the next morning when I got ready to leave), and the kids the last night I was there. BUT, that's if you get an adjoining room, so if possible, ask for a non-adjoining room and you should be fine. The breakfast is the typical "high carb-low protein" breakfast which will get you through the turnstiles at least, especially if the lines are long. It's comparable to the DI&S breakfast.

We were just at the DI&S and didn't have a problem with the hot tub, and I prefer a harder bed, so I slept just great. The beds at the Del Sol are slightly softer, and the giant throw pillows are great to put your feet up on at the end of a long day of walking.
