Has anyone stayed at both of these Inns and have some comparisons or advice? We stayed at Stanford Inn for a couple of nights last summer in a Family Suite and don't really have any complaints. We felt like we got what we paid for and it was good deal (family of 6). The 1st major difference I see is that Del Sol is right across Harbor and Stanford Inn is a little over 1.5 miles away. We do have ART shuttle passes from out last trip that we didn't use and understand the ART stop is right outside of Standford Inn so we will use those if that is where we decide to stay. Having the ART passes paid for already the location, even though it isfurther away almost seems like an advantage. I remember Jack in the Box and several other restaurants close by and hear there is a Target for grocery shopping a little further down the road too.

It also looks like the bunk beds suites at Del Sol are one bedroom where Stanford Inn the bunks are in a 2nd room so there is more space and even the option for a 2nd bathroom.

Am I missing something besides being directly across Harbor that makes De Sol a better option?

I have not stayed at either of the hotels in your post but do not underestimate the "value" of being across the street. I understand your ART tickets are paid for but you will save SO MUCH time being able to walk out of your hotel and right across the street to the parks. Also not sure what the ages of your kids are (I'm assuming there's kids since you mention the bunk bed rooms) but the proximity also greatly simplifies afternoon pool/rest/nap breaks.

Since you have ART tickets already, you could use them to take you to the Target from the DLR dropoff zone if wanted to make a trip there.

I stayed at the Stanford and liked it.. when I was planning our last trip in Dec 2015, I got down to the same 2-3 hotels. The Unofficial Guide review had Stanford a bit higher at 68 to del Sol at 62 points. Still undecided I went to the bed bug and other review websites. Since Stanford had no reports of bedbugs for years, I went with that.
I try to take it in stride, even the best hotels can get hit with bedbugs, my main concern is lingering issues or management that doesn't care. (Pop, for example, in my mind has too many reports of bedbugs to stay there.)
That said, I just did a quick search and neither of your choices appears to have anything recent, so I would feel comfortable staying at either. I think you could flip a coin.
Personally, I enjoyed the Stanford enough to return. The ART was easy, you hop on out front heading south, it goes to the end of the block and flips around back to the Land and is pretty quick. Our room felt very clean and that outranks about everything in my book.

We have stayed at the HoJo multiple times it used to be our go to when they had the old "Entertainment" rates and we only had two kids. We have also stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel in one of their two room suites so I see the value of being across the street to go back and forth, but we haven't ever ended up doing that on any of those trips. I guess having 4 kids now and going for 5 days this time instead of 3 is making me question our old rope drop to park close mentality.

We will have our car so we won't need the ART passes to get to Target or anything.

As I mentioned in my OP, we enjoyed our stay at Stanford Inn last summer, there wasn't anything to keep us from going back. The rooms were big and clean, the staff was friendly and we had no issues finding a place to park at night.

The only semi negative thing was how chaotic and small the breakfast area was, but knowing what to expect now doesn't make it a deal breaker.

The other unknown was using the ART. Last summer we walked to Toy Story Lot one day and parked in Mickey & Friends the other days (we had left the ART passes at home). So hearing that you had a good experience helps. I don't see how taking the ART would take any longer than either of the options we used last summer.

Went by both earlier today, The Stanford is a much nicer and bigger property.

But the Del Sol is within walking distance.

Tough call, I would read the TA reviews on both properties and find which one sounds better.
