Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I wasn't really sure where to post it. Does anyone know if WDW sells deflated balloons? A friend of mine leaves this Saturday and wants to bring home one of the balloons that has a Mickey ears balloon inside of it for her nephew.
TIA!

We asked two balloon vendors during our trip last month and both said, No, they only sell inflated balloons. We wanted to bring some home for our neighbors kiddos that took care of our dogs during our trip.

Last spring I found myself at MCO with my DD4, crying because she wanted to "stay in Disney forever" and it was time for us to leave. She was clutching her mickey ears balloon and did not want to let it go. A very kind airport security officer informed me that the Disney store at the airport will deflate the balloon for you. I was so thankful for that little piece of information and my DD finally stopped crying when she learned she didn't have to part with her beloved balloon! Hope this helps!

Oopps- forgot to mention, that then you can bring the balloon to any party store and have it re-inflated :)

You can also deflate it yourself by putting a piece of tape on the balloon and then piercing it with a needle.

Yep - that's what I would do. You can put a needle in your baggage (NOT a carry on!) or just pack a safety pin. Get the balloon on your way out of the park, deflate in your room and pack in a pocket on the inside of your suitcase.

Before we left for home, we were always able to deflate the mylar (silver metallic-like) balloons by carefully opening the end, letting the helium out. The, folded it up and packed neatly for the trek home.

I don't know what the bottom of the disney balloons look like- but I used to work at a party store and we would use what was essentially a straw to deflate the mylar (shiny, re-inflateable) balloons. Makes it super easy to re-inflate as well. Just be careful not to put too much pressure that you pop it while trying to deflate it :)

:thanks:
Thanks for all of the help! I appreciate it! I've passed on all the great ideas to my friend. And Clifton Tesh - that was stickin' hilarious!!!!! :rotfl2:Good thing I'm a Steelers fan!!!
