I made them many, many years ago and they were great! A big hit at the party I made them for. Sorry, I don't have the recipe but I am sure there are plenty on the 'net.

I had them at a local Irish pub here and LOVED them! I don't have a recipe for them, either, but good luck making them!

Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville makes THE best fried pickles. Those and a cold beer, yummmm

Original Recipe Yield 12 servings
Ingredients
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon vinegar-based hot pepper sauce
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup cornmeal
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (32 ounce) jar dill pickle slices
1 cup vegetable oil for deep frying
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a large bowl, combine 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of the flour, buttermilk, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, seasoning salt and garlic powder.
In a separate mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, 2 cups flour, salt and 3/4 teaspoon black pepper.
Preheat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 365 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Dip drained pickles into milk mixture and then dredge them in the flour mixture. Deep fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Salt and pepper to taste

My husband makes them now and then after trying them at Cheeseburger in Paradise. He uses a boxed batter though. They've come out better that way than homemade batters. Can't remember what he uses but I'll ask him and let you know.

Hmmm, never heard of this before. What do they taste like warm/hot? I can't imagine eating a hot pickle :lmao:

They are a huge seller at our local Barbeque place along with fried green tomatoes. We get orders of each and deep fried catfish each time we go.

Delicious! :thumbsup2

We eat fried pickles all the time. I'll tell you a very easy way to make them. Slice them really thin (too thick and the batter gets mushy not crispy) dip them in a mixture of egg and milk, and roll them in store-bought cornmeal based fish fry and fry in oil till golden brown and slightly crispy!! YUM

Katz's Deli makes the best. They're spears, not slices. Dipped in Ranch Dressing they are to die for.:thumbsup2

At one time they had deep fried pickles at The Grand Floridian Cafe. They stopped serving them a few years ago.

we also eat at them at our local bbq place - I recommend dipping them in ranch dressing - also for those curious - they taste a bit like fried zuchinni

I've never made them, but they sho' are good eats. :)

Have been making these for many years. Always a hit at family functions.

Hamburger dill chips
dipped in egg
then dipped in flour(salt and peppered)
deep fry

YUM!!

An old friend from this board introduced me to fried pickles a few years ago.

I tried to make them myself, several times, but they never compared to the ones they serve at Texas Land & Cattle. :goodvibes
