Is a dedicated studio better than a lockoff studio at Jambo House? I know all dedicated value studios have non-parking lot views, but I'm trying to figure out if there are any other advantages of a dedicated value studio vs. a lockoff value studio.

Thanks for your help!!

Theoretically there should be less potential noise in the room because there is a wall dividing units rather than a door.

Also, I'm not positive but I think there may be an actual closet in the dedicated units instead of the wardrobe that is in lock-off studios but hopefully someone else will come and verify that.

I have stayed in two dedicated value studios and one dedicated savanna view studio and all three had a real closet.

In the resorts where we had the door to the lockoff 1BR in the bedroom/living area of the studio, the noise was very obvious when our neighbors were home. I missed not have a dedicated at that time. When the connecting door is in the entry way like it is at AKV, BLT, SSR and VGF the noise was much less.

I have stayed in both and will not stay in a lock-off again. The door to the 1bdr is right near your bed (not in the hallway) and our neighbors were VERY loud. There must have been a group meeting in there 2-3 nights. We couldn't sleep. I guess it is luck of the draw with who you get next to you.

They don't take requests for the Value category, so it's somewhat irrelevant which is better. You won't get a choice.

And there are so few value studios, there might not be any other than your assigned one available on your check in day.

yep that is the problem with the value studios! I would personally spend the points for a standard.

Fortunately only some of the rooms in Jambo House have the connecting door in the living area. In the rest, the door is in the entryway. Since guests have no control over which room layout they get, you raise a very good point about staying in any room in Jambo House (not just the Value rooms) -- you risk getting a room with the connecting door in the living area where noise from the neighbors would be much more of an issue.

I read somewhere that the value studios are closer to the resort entrance. Is this correct?
