Hi DVC members,

For those of you who are familiar with BLT, are there dedicated 2-bedrooms in each viewing category? (By dedicated, I mean two queen beds in the second bedroom.) If so, how hard is it to book them? I know it's probably not guaranteed that you'll get a dedicated two-bedroom, but I'd love to know the probability.

Also, for those of you familiar with BCV, how many dedicated 2-bedrooms are there as well? We were fortunate to stay in one on a trip three years ago and never really thought much about it. However, when it comes down to planning our next trip, I'm starting to realize that we may have been really lucky to have gotten one.

Thanks!

We had a dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT, it was either standard or lake view on the 3rd floor. We had booked a lake view, but we had the extra points given back to us, because apparently it may be reclassified as standard view. It had 2 queens in the second bedroom.

At BCV it's difficult to get the dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queens because there are only 25 of them and more of the dedicated 2 bedrooms only have 1 Q and 1 sleeper sofa in the second bedroom.

In either case, your reservation will say "dedicated 2 bedroom." In the case of BCV, there is then a description like" 2 queen beds in the second bedroom."

You should know what you reserve. It is not a request, it is a room type.

Thanks, Bobbi!

My group of girl friends are all confused over where to spend Spring break. We're all huge Disney fans and foodies so we're hoping to be in on the action and by all the restaurants. However, I'm starting to think that sleeping arrangements will play a large factor in whether we go with BCV or BLT.

Just to add...

if you get the BCV dedicated 2 bedroom w/queen & sleeper sofa, the sleeper sofa will be a queen.

The square footage for all of the DVC resort's two bedroom villas:

AKV Kidani - 1173
Jambo - 1075
Value - 945
BCV - 1083
BLT - 1152
BWV - 1073
OKW - 1395
SSR - 1075
VWL - 1080

BLT villas:

Rooms (approximate): 295 (max 428)
Dedicated Studio: 0
Dedicated One Bedroom: 0
Dedicated Two Bedroom: 148
Lockoff Two Bedroom: 133

BCV:

Rooms: 208 (max 282)
Dedicated Studio: 36
Dedicated One Bedroom: 20
Dedicated Two Bedroom: 78
Lockoff Two Bedroom: 74

As lisareniff posts if you end up with a lock off in the second BR, the pull out couch at BCV is larger as it is a queen. BLT only has a double pullout couch. However BLT also has a pullout chair in the living room in addition to the pullout couch and the villa sleeps nine. And BLT's (and AKV Kidani) have three bathrooms in the 2 BR villa. Each BR has it's own bathroom and the third is off of the living room.

Check out work2plays thread regarding views at BLT. That thread may have an inkling of how many of the STD view 2BRs are dedicated. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2257082 There are no official figures out as yet regarding BLT's room views. The mix of villas at BLT is as follows: 10% standard view; 70% Lake view; and 20% Magic Kingdom view. I don't know if those figures would apply to dedicated villas in each category. As yet I have not been able to locate that information on any website.

I can't speak from experience but I'm not sure the L/O 2 BR units at BCV has a queen pull out. It's only that about 1/3 of the dedicated units have 2 queens and the other 2/3 have a queen and pull out queen. This is due to a design flaw or rather, a misreading of the plans by the contractor if I was informed correctly. I assumed that the l/o units had a queen and pull out full size.

Just to clarify..

A Lock-off two bedroom at BCV will have a Queen andfull sleeper sofa in the second bedroom, where a dedicated two bedroom will have either 2 queen beds or 1 queen bed and 1 queen sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. These are three different room types that are reserved at time of booking and will be stated on your confirmation.
