Dedicated Doggie Thread!

This is Teddy - He's a four-year old chocolate brown miniature poodle, and I love at miss him sooo much! (He's at home in CA, while I'm at school in OK)

These two are from this summer:

I use a harness (we call it a suitcase, because my dog looks like a little suitcase with it on LOL.) She is a daschund so her head is smaller than her neck and she could slip out of a regular collar. Plus I don't feel like I'm hurting her if I do need to pull her away from something on a walk. She's a hound so her nose is to the ground and she tends to eat anything off the ground LOL.

We sometimes use a harness. Usually not in summer, because it's so hot, but almost always in winter. He really likes it, because he knows when he sees his harness, he gets to go somewhere. And he looks adorable in it. He even tries to put it on himself!

bgirl- Teddie is so cute! So, tell me, are poodles as smart as I've heard? They are in the top 10 smartest breeds list. So are shelties, and I agree with that! Cosmo knows several tricks, excpet for "don't poop on the floor". That he hasn't quite gotten down yet!

Thanks for the harness advice!

OMG Teddy had the cutest nose!

How about nicknames? Bandit is Bandito Mosquito (Shelties have long noses!) or Frito. When the pup goes crazy I call him a Gremlin. Ds also calls the puppy, whose name is Cosmo, "Commie", making our dog sound like a communist. Thank goodness it is no longer the 50s!

I've never seen Teddy do anything really dumb, but he doesn't know how to open doors or anything. I think he's pretty normal. I would say his strongest trait is that he is extremely emotionally attached to my mom. She can be out in the garden, and he will be standing on the back of the couch looking out the window, and crying like she's never coming back, even if he can see her.

But at the same time, he always gets so excited when we come home!

I do use harnesses on my dogs. I started out with the collie because he had claustrophobia (no joke) and would not tolerate anything around his neck but walked like a perfect gentleman with a harness. Our dog now walks with an easy walk harness which is supposed to keep him from pulling but it doesn't seem to help a whole lot, it does keep him from choking while he is pulling though.

That cam is so cute.It almost makes you forget about all the work puppies take! Almost...;)
