Dedicated 2 Bedroom at OKW

What can you tell me about one of these rooms? I just got off the phone with Member Services and they have us reserved for a dedicated instead of a Lock-off for our trip next week. I'm really bummed. Will we not have an extra fridge? And Member Services said there is NO door to the second bedroom??? How can this be??? And please tell me there are 2 bathrooms! Starting to freak out a little bit. We're going with the in-laws.

The second bedroom is on the lower right side. There is certainly a door between the entry hall and the second bedroom. And there are two full baths in the unit. You will not have a second fridge like you would have w/ a lock-off, but that fridge would not have been very large anyway.

SusieBea - Thank you for your response. Member Services told me there was not a door to the 2nd bedroom. I thought how strange that was. I did look up the layout online and saw exactly what you posted and there does seem to be a door LOL. We can live with it if there's a door

are you talking about a second outside door to the dedcated 2br ? there shouldn't be one if it's dedcated 2br
Sounds like they told you there was no door to the 2nd br from the LRhow do you get in and out

With a dedicated 2 bdrm there is only once entrance into the whole unit. With a lock-off there are 2 entrances. You really only need one so no big deal. same with the fridge. It's just big enough for 1/2 gallon milk, some pop cans and a few other things.

You know what, maybe what the CM at Member Services meant was that there was no exterior door to the second bedroom, which of course is true if it's a dedicated two bedroom.

There is a door from the living room hallway into the 2nd BR. Since there is no mini-kitchen, there is a little extra storage space. There is a bathroom for the 2nd BR but there is no exterior door and no balcony so they do feel a little larger to us. All other features of the dedicated 2BRs are the same as lock-off (full kitchen, laundry room, jacuzzi, 2 Queen beds in the 2nd BR, King bed in the master suite).

There will only be one safe (in the main bedroom). Also when we stayed there in 2008 (prior to renovation), there was no internet connection in the second bedroom (so this may have changed).

We're booked for a 2bd and I don't know if we're dedicated or lock-off. I'll call back tomorrow!

I love having the kitchenette in the studio part, so I assume that is not in the studio part of a dedicated 2 bd, correct?

Everyone keeps mentioning the fridge. Is there still the microwave and sink, just no fridge? Or is the whole kitchenette gone?

We just came back from OKW last week. We were in a dedicated 2BDR. Each BDRM definitely had a door which could be locked for privacy from the main living area. There was a full kitchen with full size frig, stove, and microwave. There was also a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. They even provided little boxes of Tide. It was SO nice to be able to wash clothes!

No kitchenette. In its place is a second bathroom sink and counter (outside the bathroom). In the place of the exterior door is a large closet. I stayed in the second bedroom with a friend and it was good having 2 bathroom sinks, we could get ready at the same time (one inside the bathroom, one outside). Plus we each had our own closet.

When making reservations, they typically book up the dedicated 2 bedrooms first, leaving the lockoffs to split as studios & 1 bedrooms. If the dedicated 2 bedrooms are gone, then they start booking the lockoffs.

I did end up calling member services back and they said the original person was wrong who told me there was no door to the bedroom. They thought I misunderstood and that she was talking about the exterior door but, no, I asked for clarification about 5 times. I couldn't believe she was telling me there was no privacy door for the 2nd bedroom. Oh well, ppl make mistakes. I'm just glad to hear she was wrong

There is no EXTERIOR door to the second bedroom....It only opens into the entry hall of the whole unit.

No extra fridge, but OKW is the ONLY DVC WDW resort that has full sized fridges with ice makers. In addition, you will have a HUGE walk in closet in the second bedroom where the exterior entrance would normally be.

I think the door confusion is that when the cm said there is no door only a hallway is because the bedroom door is at the end of a hall but in a one bd the door is right off the living room.

DH & I share the studio part with the kids, my parent's are in the master and my sister always gets the pull out. I think we'll want the private patio so we don't bother everyone else.

I'll call today and see if they can move me to a lock off. I love OKW!

I called MS today and was able to switch from a dedicated to a lock off. I know I'll appreciate the seperate patio/balcony and the extra kitchenette with the kids always needing their bedtime milk/soymilk before bed.

OP, if you really want the second little fridge and a small balcony off the second bedroom then call MS and ask for a lock-off. Waitlist if you need to and I'll bet it comes through.
