Decorations? When do they go up?

Hi all,

I was just wondering when the decorations for the Christmas celebration go up?

Don't flame me, but we want to go and see Disney with the kids without the decorations. Personal choice, plus I want to see Spectro Magic! I love that parade. I want the kids to see Disney as Disney for the first time. So, we are trying to find a time that would work for that and also be when no crowds would be there! Thinking mid-November before THanksgiving.

So, when do the decorations go up and the shows change?

First time we went alone they were putting them up the begininng of November. I think it is a process that takes several weeks.

In 2004, we arrived the Sunday before Thanksgiving and the large tree was already up. However, the official lighting of the tree did not take place till the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. In 2003, the tree was lit on the Monday before Thanksgiving.

Are up by Thanksgiving including parks and resorts with decorations going up in stages from early November on.

If memory serves me right, the changeover for shows start the day after Thanksgiving, but in the Magic Kingdom, Not all the shows are holiday, because of MVMCP.
