Decorating thoughts/help AKV

Excited to take the family and my mother-in law to Disney for Christmas. Staying a week at Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House. Really want to decorate for them as I get there a day early. Thinking about getting a tree and other decorations once I arrive. Anyone done this? Ideas?

Anyone arriving Christmas Eve want the stuff when we check-out? Maybe we could work

We stayed at BWV a couple years ago across Christmas. I had a small table-top tree (from a drug store) and shipped down a box of tree decorations, focused on lights and lightweight ornaments. That was enough for us, along with the resort decorations. Our kids were in high school, and a heavily decorated room was less important.

When we did a DCL cruise about 10 years ago, it was a tree like above, plus window clings for the porthole. Window clings would also work on the slider onto your balcony at AKL. If you're really into it, you could also do stockings with suction cup hooks on the windows.

Going on a cruise and to Universal this Christmas season. Don't need extra decoratios, but new for us, we will be bring Christmas music. With the relatively new technology around portable music, a phone and a small speaker are all that's needed for instant Christmas atmosphere.

Make sure you only decorate inside your villa (nothing outside the villa including the door). DVC has asked that guests not put any decorations where they can be seen from the outside. Plus with the animals you won't want anything that could ultimately injure them. I don't think they will allow a real tree, so you'll have to have a fake tree.

We stayed at AKL villas last year, and the kids favorite part was decorating for Christmas. I shipped down a pop up tree, ribbon, etc. We liked it so much, we shipped it back to ourselves for about $10-15. We of course decorated with an animal theme, and ornaments with photos over the years at Disney.

Thanks for the help. Ultimately, I went to Walmart on Turkey Lake and bought a 4 ft tree and decorations. My family was absolutely floored when they walked in. On the way back, we used gate check for the tree and packed other decorations in our bags.
