Decorating Hotel Doors

I have zero interest in this, but my mother is wondering if it is acceptable/normal to decorate the outside of your hotel door? She cruises quite often, and says its a thing people do for that. We are staying on property at DLH. We saw that they offer packages ($$$) that do it, but she is interested in doing her own. I know I could call Disney, but I thought I'd ask here before I sit on hold for 30+ minutes.
