Almost finished! It takes us several days to put everything back in its place. We will keep the candles in the windows and lights up outside until next weekend, but everything else is being stored away. What a job!
What about you, are you spending the weekend getting you home back in order?

Yup, it's what I should be doing right now, instead of Dis'ing. :rolleyes1

Yep, got everything down today, except our outside lights as well. Way too cold out today, plus everything still has snow all over it.

We just put the last of the Christmas stuff away a couple of hours ago. It's a lot of work taking down the tree and packing away all of the decorations!
Dh took down the outside lights yesterday. It was cold, but it's supposed to stay cold for quite a while.

I keep looking around trying to see if we forgot to pack anything, and haven't found a stray Christmas item yet.

No, nothing is supposed to come down in our home before Epiphany (12 days of Christmas), and even then I may keep it a little linger just because it looks so pretty. The lights are helping me to keep my spirits up, and I'm not looking forward to taking them down.

We live in a condo and have nothing outside, so we'll be the only ones who'll know we still have Christmas around for most of Jan.

Just got finished packing all the ornaments, stockings and santas away. All the vacumming is done and the furniture is back to where it normally goes. Dh is putting the tree in the woods as I type. One of my cats is very freaked out that her tree isn't there anymore, now she won't be able to sleep under it anymore.
We still have our outside lights and candles in the windows, we'll probably leave those up for another week. All my snowmen/winter decorations will stay out until mid February, then it will be time for the Spring stuff

I worked yesterday but DW was off and she spent 6+ hours taking down the Christmas tree. We have the original packaging for many of our ornaments and DW does a great job of putting everything together so it looks like it did when we purchased it(some ornaments were bought 35 years ago!). We spent about another hour last night getting the tree into its box and up to the attic. I worked today and when I got home DW had everything put away.

Nope, still too early to take it all down.

Especially since we were about 2 weeks late getting the tree put up.

I'm waiting until next weekend.

It's a lot easier now that all the boxes and bags for everything are downstairs in the main closet, rather than upstairs. No more trudging up the stairs to take care of everything. Love that!

I do think the house looks so bare though, once everything is put away. :(

I feel your pain, we've been working all week-end taking tree down and getting decorations put away. I agree, it always looks so barren without all the colorful decorations. Seems quiet as a mouse without our adult kids and families who stayed with us for the holiday week and left yesterday. DD2 invited us for dinner tonight, but we're tuckered, decided we'd order in and rent a good movie. :goodvibes

This is the saddest job, I think about how happy we are putting it up with the Christmas mmusic playing....I'm glad I got it up and out of here...I was ready to get my house back in order.

I never take the tree down until the 2nd week in January. It is just too pretty and I want to enjoy it. This weekend is for resolutions!! Decluttering, sorting, cleaning, cooking, etc.. I am slowly moving some of the decorations to the guest room and then to their tubs. Sorted the tubs as I unloaded them and donated the things I just no longer use. Still drinking coffee from my Santa mugs and eating the last of the goodies. The last leftovers are gone and I have cleaned all my floors. Quite a feat after 4 dogs, 2 cats, 11 adults and 3 kids for 5 days. Flipped the mattress, changed the smoke alarm batteries, cleaned the pantry, and a closet. Now time to relax for the evening and reve up for tomorrow's clutter attack.

I totally get it. We always kept the tree up until the Epiphany growing up, but now I just want my house back in order.

And doesn't it look so pretty? We have had a very 'seasonal' looking month here in the North East.

No lol, not a fan of the snow. I prefer leaves on the trees, green grass, flowers and sunshine. I'm one of those people that wishes Christmas was in July :rotfl:

NO, say it isn't so....ALL that work to get it all up.....I am not ready yet and will wait till next weekend.

Meanwhile we bought a "fake" tree this year for one of our rooms and the dh already asked/teased if I planned on decorating it for other holidays (like hearts for valentines day) :rotfl2: Nope, not going that route but I refuse to take any of it down yet, I am not YET ready to moved on thru the holiday seasonpopcorn::

Put away almost everything but the nativity set and the holiday dishes (still waiting for the dishwasher to finish to put away the rest of the dishes.

Saphire: I love your kitty in the photo!

I wanted to do it today but the snow stopped me. All my storage is outside in my shed. Didnt want the mess of bringing the snow in as I went back and forth to the shed. 1/2 of my shed is just for Christmas. Hope next weekend is better. I am tired of the snow already.
