I have a huge mess in the garage. We've been wanting to do a yardsale for the last year but havent gotten around to doing it.

I know I might be able to get more money if I post on Craigs List. What is the best way to post all my pictures of items , then post a link to it when i post my ad?

My plan is to post this week on craigs List and what doesnt sale do a yardsale.

Should i do lots by size or outfits?I have lots of kids clothes.I was thinking $1 for pants(mostly cut girl jeans and shorts sz 8-10), tops .50

How much for girls shoes converse high tops (brand new)and low ones worn maybe 1-2, girls dress shoes worn 1-2 times
used shose: sketchers, keds?
I have furniture entertainment center, wooden bar/nook chairs/stools,
5-drawer chest.

How much could i get for home interior pictures?

I mostly have lots of girls clothes.

any tips would be appreciated.

if nothing sales I told dh to post signs by Elementary school in the low income areas. I really want to clear the garage so dh can park his car in it and the extra money would be great too! :)

Your best bet, is to search craig's list and ebay for similar items and what they're asking for. On ebay, there's a "completed listings" search. I would check for some of the like new items that are small on ebay, and use craig's list for a starting point for the furniture.

I also posted an ad on craig's list for the yard sale. I posted up pictures and prices of some of the higher items, along with good descriptions. It's so hard pricing items, cause you're always going to have low ballers trying to get everything for a quarter or free.

It's a hard game to play. Sometimes I'll state a price slightly higher, maybe a dollar higher than what I'm willing to go for because I think they'll try to counter and they don't. If I state the price I actually want, they always counter.

I seemed to make most on package deals....

like a whole box of girls 2-4t winter for $50 or whatever....I did this on ebay because it was way back when.

When you post a listing to craigslist there's a spot to upload pictures from your computer.

Good luck.

Shoes don't typically do well. I'd throw them into the package deal or donate to goodwill. Exception rain boots, snow boots, slippers.

You can also post on craigslist you're having a garage sale.

I would 2nd the PP's statement about selling a lot of clothing on craigslist. Make them the same season/same size or close to it, and sell the entire lot.

Bigger items I would sell individually, I always mark the price higher than what I really want. Most times, I've not had anyone barter with me. I once sold a watch on CL and had $100 on it, and I would not take a penny less, they tried to barter, told them no, and they bought it anyway. Don't be afraid to say NO! I've said it more than once, but the watch is the one that stands out to me.

Make sure you're posting under the appropriate category also, and with the toddler clothing I would put that under Baby/kids category rather than clothing/accessories category.

I've sold just about anything and everything on CL and still have more to declutter, need to get back at that!! ;)

Also with the season being what it is, Christmas coming up, etc now is a great time to sell on CL. I ALWAYS state CASH ONLY and meet somewhere locally & public, like the local McD's, supermarket, Walmart. Never ever have them come to your house.

Craigs List is a great idea. Just be careful about posting personal information - don't post your address. Have folks post their contact information and then you can call them.
