I looked forward to the opportunity to be a part of the Disney College Program with great anticipation, hoping I would be doing something exciting and new to put on my resume, specifically to improve my skills as a performer. I applied on February 1st and had my phone interview the next day. I applied to the Fall Advantage Program with Entertainment, Attractions, and Character Attendant being the only roles I checked off of the list. I was under the impression that I did great in my phone interview. I discussed why I was qualified for the aforementioned roles, specifically talked about the great movie ride, and declined two other roles offered to me at the start of my interview. To my dismay I was reserved a QSF&B role. Am I really about to graduate from Tulane with honors to do THIS, a job that I have no interest in and will not serve me on my acting or professional resume? Should I decline? I'm not sure how this experience will serve me and feel I could be doing something more worth while. I decided not to go through with Teach for America for this? Really? I am attending Entertainment auditions and understand they are extremely competitive. Sorry for the ranting. I'm so upset. Two questions: Is there a possibility that over the seven months I am there I can move to a different position? (Totally off book for the great movie ride script) Could I perhaps reapply for the Fall instead of the Fall Advantage in hopes there are better positions open? Thank you very much!
