We have been confirmed (so far) in cabin 2600 which is starboard side about mid-ship. I've read a bit here and there (including dcltribute pages) that imply that deck two passengers will be plagued with bumps, bangs, clangs, etc.

Anyone willing to share first hand experiences?

We had a deck two cabin (2637) which is starboard aft, and it was as quiet as any hotel room I've ever been in. I was expecting more noise when I saw that our room was above the engines, and below the kitchen, but it's a very well built ship and extremly quite compared to ships of 10 years ago. We did have an equipment room across the hall from us and once every 3 or 4 hours a pump would run for about 30 seconds, but we were use to it by the second night and could ingnore it in our sleep.

Our cabin was aft & mid-ship on Deck 2. The only time we heard noise was when the ship docked. I believe there was some bumps & clanks that woke us up. However, it didn't wake our DS. I'm probably not the best person to answer this for I have no other decks to compare. But overall I enjoyed this deck!!

Hope this helps a little!!

We were deck 2- 2514. We had no problems at all. No extra rocking except on the day that we had 13-20 ft waves. Also, we were right below Rockin' Bar D and we have no complaints of being disturbed from noise- I honestly didn't hear anything from up there. I was also shocked that 4 slightly overpacked girls were able to unpack their suitcases into draweres....Disney sure isn't stingy with storage room in such tiny quarters!

Hey PrincessGoofy81....glad you were finally able to post!!!!

We sailed with PrincessGoofy81 on the 1/4 cruise (my two DD actually shared the cabin with her!!!!) And they were more than just slightly overpacked!!!! LOL!!!!

Anyway, we have been on Deck 2 twice and Deck 1 once. We have also been on Deck 8 in a Cat 4. I must say the Deck 2 rooms had virtually no noise compared to the Deck 8 cabins which had alot of deck noice from chairs being moved above. Last week were in cabin 2550 mid ship starboard side....great location with easy access to elevators and walking up to the atrium for all the activities. Never had to wait too long for an elevator either!!!

You guys are awesome. Thanks so much for the information!! It helps to know that we aren't in the "dungeon" as it was once described to me!!

Believe me....when you come out of your stateroom every hallway looks exactly the same. You cannot tell where you really are. We even loved our Deck 1 cabin. We were also mid-ship and this was the absolute best location for coming back from shore excrusions. Everyone was waiting for elevators and all we had to do was walk down the hall!!!

I thought Deck 2 was awesome. I just looked on the deck plan and cabin 2600 looks to be in a great location. Personally I liked getting away from all of the traffic and people on the upper decks. Deck 2 was quiet (except for my parents cabin but it did not bother them just me). When you come down to Deck 2 there are just people coming and going to their rooms etc. Not shopping and eating and rushing and standing around. The Category 9 room we had was very spacious for us and we did not think it was dungeon at all! Have fun :)

We were on deck 2 on our last trip, and never noticed any noise!

The past three years we have travelled on the DCL - 7 day'ers in a deck 2 room. We have enjoyed each trip with no problems with noise. The last one (Dec.2002) was exactly mid ship and the other times were more aft. I cannot seeing paying more $ than an oceanview on this deck if you spend a majority of your time on the open decks.

Most of Deck 2 is very quiet. There are just a few zones with rooms that you'd want to avoid. I have a list of rooms within these zones. Some folks have posted that they've booked some of these rooms and had no problem. Others have agreed that the rooms are quite noisy, especially the ones that are the most aft.

Here's my list...

This will be our third Disney cruise and we are booked in the same deck 2 cabin as before. We love the convenient location and have only experienced minimal noise, mostly when docking. Friends on our last cruise had a veranda cabin on an upper deck and although they enjoyed the veranda, they experienced a lot of noise and had to do a lot more walking to get anywhere. Deck 2 is great so have a wonderful cruise!!!

It's only deck 2 cat. 9 for us....we like the aft staterooms as they are closer to all the venues we enjoy most...also, the aft elevators are the least crowded...I recommend highly stateroom 2114 and 2120...both very quiet and conveniently located near aft elevator bank
