Deck 7 or 9?

So I am now second guessing our stateroom. I currently have deck 7 Aft (room 7676) for our December Cruise on the Dream. I picked 7 after looking at the floor plans and trying to get a bearing of the ship's size. DD will likely hang out in the teen club, but wanted to be somewhat accessible to most things.

Did I make the right call? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

We loved deck 7 on the Fantasy (same layout.) DD and I had no issues taking the stairs all the time and she's only 4!

Why are you second guessing yourself? You're halfway between everything. Sure, it's aft, but I don't think it's very far from most things. The only down would be the mid elevators... either direction it could be full. But you're aft and can take the aft elevators which are less crowded.

But if you decide to change, deck 9 is nice, too. We were on 9. Mostly, we'd walk up to 11 rather than wait for the elevators (mid), but rarely walked up from any other events.

We chose the seventh floor too. Last year we were on the 8th because my dad was in a handicapped room. But for just the four of us, my agent asked me what we wanted and I said middle of the ship. So she gave us seventh floor mid ship. That's totally good for me!

We really like the 7th Deck (aft as well). Hardly ever take elevators 'cause we need the exercise, but only 3~4 flights down to the Aft MDR's and only 2 flights up to 9. We can feel the thrusters coming into a port, but haven't had problems with motion (and I am susceptible).

Thanks all for your thoughts.

I guess I am just second guessing myself because this is our first ever cruise and I want it to be amazing for both my DD and I.

We've done decks 7 and 8 multiple times on the Dream/Fantasy and IMHO I'd not sweat a deck or 2 difference and enjoy the cabin chosen. My thoughts in sticking with those decks instead of the upper 2 decks is in my mind less motion (and that lack of motion is more in my head than actual) and that I am a few decks above the deck 5 clubs, theatres and public spaces and a few decks below deck 11 with its open spaces and deck noises.

I decided on deck 7 too (midship). It seemed right in the middle of everything!

We have stayed on deck 7 (aft) multiple times on the Dream/Fantasy. Good location to cabanas but also to the main restaurants. Always felt like destinations were a few decks away and didn't have to rely on the elevators. That said...we have had good success with the aft elevators not seeming as busy as the others (especially midship). We are cruising again in June on the Dream and are staying deck 8 (aft).

Our cabins locations have also been very close to the aft elevators. I guess we have been fortunate because we have never had any issue with noise.
Probably jinxed myself for our upcoming trip. D'oh!

It will be amazing! You have already succeeded. We were on deck 7 on the Fantasy, closer to midships, but we often went back to the Aft elevators, since they were much less crowed. Easier if you are going to Cabanas too; you don't have to walk past the pool that way! You come up right in the restaurant. Nothing is really THAT far away anyway.
