Deck 7 - Gray Space

I think it's where the cast members can go......if you look on Deck 8 all the middle is not occupied......From what I remember, there are doors on the inside for the cast members to go in and out of..I think its where they keep the cleaning carts...ect...

I think its how disney hides the cast members...instead of having them all in the hall ways! ;) Kinda like the underground tunnel in Magic Kingdom.

Hope this helps...and is right!! hahaha

These areas are used by housekeeping to store supplies, etc. There is also at least one other set of elevators which the crew uses. I saw the ones aft on the last night when they were collecting luggage. There may be another one forward. There is also a laundry room on deck 7 which is not on the deck plan

A while back I was looking at the deck plans just trying to figure out whats up above and down below in the different areas of the ship. Specifically I was looking at the Buena Vista & Walt Disney Theaters. After a while of scratching my head because I'm easily confused, I noticed that the deck plans don't really line up on the page. To get an accurate picture, you have to cut each deck out individually and line up the elevators (since they have to line up). This made looking at the deck plans make more sense to me (and I could see where the theaters went "down" into the next deck.

Crew stairs, crew elevators, support facilities, exhaust stack from the engine room to the rear funnel, and other internal systems.

Think of it a "backstage."

For example, you don't see them using the passenger elevators to deliver food to Topsiders and Palo.

That area also is where the luggage is carted back and forth on the day they bring it and when they take it at the end. As someone said - I believe there is an elevator in there because that would be the only sensible way to get the luggage back and forth. And it was split - we were in aft and there was an aft area and I noticed that in forward there was a forward area (we were on Deck 7). By the way - in case you want to know - the laundry area is in the hallway that leads you to the 7638 room and above that (our room was 7629) but is to the left instead of going right toward our room and it's behind the aft elevators. There were 4 washers and 4 dryers. There is nothing to hang clothes up after you iron them either - so be prepared for that.
