We'll be on Deck 2 for our 7 day cruise next Sept. Cabin# 2034. I TRIED to get something midship, but nothing was available. Does anyone have any experiences staying in or around that room or area? Seasickness, more motion, noise or whatever? This last cruise was our first (and was a 3 day "teaser" cruise. I felt ill the moment the ship started moving. Thank goodness for those Sea Bands! TIA!

We were in room 2622 (which is aft). My opinion is that we felt more movement when we were in the front section of the ship. Rockin Bar D was really rocking at times!

That's what I was afraid of! No wonder the only rooms on that deck were forward! I asked Jackie (the on board booking lady) about the movement because I felt bad this time and she said and I quote "You feel even less motion on the lower decks because you are closer to the water."

I'll have to see what others say and see if I can change the room. Thanks!

I have stayed on decks 1 and 2 several times, forward, mid and aft, and could not tell a difference in movement of the ship at any location....if the seas are rough you will feel it wherever you are!! If seas are not rough, I do not think there is a difference in forward or aft.

I was in 2038 and 2040 on my last cruise and we had absolutely no problems. We booked deck 2 rooms for our next cruise with no reservations!

We were in 2108 in May and it was great... close to the elevator/stairs (but not too close)

We had 2022 and 2024 for the New Year's Eve cruise and there were some nights with really high seas and we felt some rocking but it was more forward/backward than side to side (like we were cutting through the waves versus rocking back and forth). I had the flu and even feeling badly (URI, not stomach flu) it didn't bother me at all.

We were right by "the luggage door" and the first/last night it was a bit loud, but really didn't bother us.

Location to stairs/elevators was perfect!

:wave2: 2090 for first cruise and LOVED It - booked all of my family on deck 2 for our 12/02/2006 cruise ( all but one really - but they wanted the 7th floor)

I have stayed on Deck 6,7 and deck 2. I was actually the least impacted by movement when we stayed on deck 2. We stayed in 2071/2073 in Oct of 2003 and I was very pleased with the stateroom location.

:dancer: Phew!! It's good to hear some good experiences! Of course, the weather/seas would have to cooperate. We should be set! Just got home last week and can't WAIT to go again! Now I know why all you regular cruisers go!! Thanks so much!! Please keep the responses coming!

I read on one of the quidebooks ( I think Passporter) that the lower you are in the ship, the better. :flower:

It's true -- the lower you are, the less movement you will feel. To check this out (in person physics test), walk up to Deck 10 on your next cruise.

We were on Deck 2 midship on our most recent cruise and loved it. We were not really under Rockin Bar D but close....and didn't find it to be noisy at all. For a light sleeper like me, that means a lot!

For our next cruise in 2006, we booked Deck 2 midship again.

On our other two cruises we were on Deck 5 forward and had no problems except for noise from the Walt Disney theatre during the mid-afternoon (matinee? or rehearsal?, not sure).

As to movement, I don't think I noticed any difference....well, except when Hurricane Jeanne was around. Then again, I think no matter where on ship we were, everyone felt the hurricane for a day. :rotfl:
