We have never sailed and I was watching some youtube videos that showed deck 11. There is a lot of nie seating for dining for Cabanas and the quick service. What I noticed was there is a glass panel over the railing which makes this seating more like a sun or garden room. Doesnt this totally hold all the hot air in and not allow any breezes to cool off? We sail beginning of September on the 4 night Dream from Cape Canaveral.

Would this seating area be hotter than the surface of the sun? I am just worred that the image in my head of use sitting outside on the deck in reality will mean us sitting and dying in the heat.. Do most cruisers on summer cruises stay in the indoor AC parts then?

No, it's not super hot in that area. It can be a little warmer on the sunny side. If it's too toasty, check out the other side of the ship.

No. Those are prime seating positions. We always try to get a seat next to the window bc the view is phenomenal. The A/C runs high in there so it evens out. You can also sit out on the pool deck, which is nice too. It’s not as confining. The biggest problem with the cabanas is lack of seating especially during the first day when everyone goes to the cabanas after they board. I definitely recommend a sit down restaurant experience on the first day for lunch. They’ll let you know which restaurant is open for seating. Have fun!

We do the exact opposite. The only time we eat at Cabanas for lunch is the first day. An early PAT and a desire to have lunch once on the boat ensures this a viable option. We have never found it too hot but then we look for the shadier spots.........

When we sat outside we never felt too hot. The only thing is sometimes one or two of us were looking directly at the sun so we started being sure we had sunglasses and maybe a hat. We loved sitting outside!!

The glass is not totally enclosed. The panels on either end are open louver-type windows. So there is a "breeze" most of the time. Now, depending on the weather, that breeze can be fairly hot, or cool. You can see that on the right here:

There's definitely a breeze that goes through. In fact, it's quite nice because sitting outside without any break between you and the wind can be cool even on a hot, sunny day in the Caribbean. When the ship is moving, the wind can be fairly substantial. It's also what makes it deceptively cool sitting out in the direct sun. Lots of people get a bad sunburn because it doesn't feel hot but they're getting direct sun for a long period of time.
