We are going to WDW 11/25-12/3 and have currently booked AOA with FD but are torn as what to do. We are a family of 5(me, dh, dd3, dd4, ds9) and are indicisive about changing resorts. We are wandering what to do since CBR is under construciton and AOA has 2 bathrooms and seems pretty well themed but CBR seems to have better pools. If money wasn't part of the equation where would you choose?

There is construction going on at CBR. Check their thread for info. With 3 children I'd pick AoA for the room! You will be more cramped at CBR. AoA suites will be way more comfortable IMO and the pool is super cute.

We are a family of 5 and loved the space in the AOA suite. The 2 bathrooms were fantastic. And no, the pools at AOA do not have slides, but the Nemo Pool was a big hit with my kids!

Lol...well if money wasn't an issue then I'd stay at BLT or Beach Club. That's a far stretch from AoA though. I will say, that we did not enjoy CBR...if you're looking at a mod or a place with a pool, have you considered POR? They have rooms that sleep 5 and we much preferred it over CBR. They also will have a full working food court and you can also walk to POFQ to eat or use their pool which is a nice alternative. They also provide boat transportation to DS.

Honestly between AoA (even if it were a standard room which I understand wouldn't be an option for you guys) and CBR, I'd hands down pick AoA, even if there weren't construction going on at CBR.

AoA would be my choice - 2 bathrooms and extra room space are hard to beat. Their food court is good with something for everyone. CBR is a very large resort and you can be pretty far away from either the pool, buses or food court.

Not stating this to sway OP one way or the other, just stating to be factual. Every Village has its own bus stop and leisure pool so you will never be far from either one of those. Since the OP is a family of 5 the Pirate Themed Rooms, which are the farthest from the Food Court and Main Feature Pool, are not an option. And they are removing the entire Village of Barbados, so the longest walk to the Food Court would be 5 minutes at the most.

Thank you all so much I felt like I was missing out on something because one was a mod and the other Value but after reading the comments I can see that in reality the Value offers more. Plus we are staying at POR from 11/22-11/25 for the first part of our trip before FD so we still get to try a Mod and from all the comments that is clearly the better mod anyway.

I would disagree on the pools, we preferred the pools at AoA, we find the slides to be not worth the extra cost and really enjoyed AoA buses, pools and food court.

Guess I'm in the minority but I would choose CBR over AoA hands down. Lack of a hot tub is a deal breaker for us, and my kids love the water slides. And, as @dansdad pointed out, there is a bus stop and pool in every village so the size of the resort is really not an issue. The scenery at CBR is just so relaxing with the beaches and hammocks....it's like Disney and a tropical vacation all at the same time!

I'm not a fan of CBR, but I would stay with AOA because of the size and 2nd bathroom

HUGE CBR devotee here, however for your particular situation, I would stick with AoA. With the littles and all of their accessories, you would need the extra space that the family suite would provide. Also, 2 bathrooms is an awesome perk! I will also note that whenever I have priced AoA it usually comes out to be about the same as a mod to me.
