I would chose CR CL Bay Lake view, conditionally.

First, we're big fans of CL; it's pretty much a "must" for our family. I would always choose CL over an upgraded view. However, if you're not going to be at the resort to take advantage of the food/beverage offerings and you're the type that does all your own planning, you might not see the benefit of CL. We find it to be a huge convenience well worth the cost, though. So that knocks CR TPV out of the running. Plus, you can go to the CL lounge and watch Wishes with the music piped in, then go back to your Bay Lake view room to watch the water parade. Best of both worlds. :thumbsup2

Second, we preferred the look of the CR rooms to the Poly, and we also preferred having everything under one roof (including the line for the monorail!). Not to mention being able to walk to MK.

However, if the tropical theme of the Poly really appeals to you and/or you'll be spending a lot of time at the pool, then I'd probably choose Poly CL.

Thanks for your advice! We booked the Poly based on the volcano slide that my 7 year old son has been wanting to try for YEARS. I keep hearing that the slide is going to be closed for the entire length of our stay though, no cast member will confirm it though. At this point, I am going to be really upset if we get there and the pool slide is out of commission. I know it's a silly thing to get upset over, but seriously that is the reason we booked the Poly. I kind of want to just switch our reservation and be done with it, but at the same time, since no one will confirm it I may just gamble. If we get there and it is out, we could just ask to move resorts, right?

I would go with the Contemporary Atrium Club - Bay Lake View for the following reasons. The walkway when going to the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary is the 1st stop both going and coming back when their Buses share with the Polynesian, their rooms are bigger, you are guaranteed to get a full size balcony, I always had positive experiences when staying Club Level at the Contemporary and you know in advance that your room will be located somewhere on the 12th floor of the Tower.

I would definately choose CL at either CR or Poly. You're on vacation, and for me, it's those little extra's that help make the vacation more meaningful. I don't think you could go wrong with either resort, and we have stayed CL before. Regarding your question if you get there and find their is no slide, you can switch only IF there is availability elsewhere. You didn't mention how long you plan to stay, so it's possible that there won't be availability. If the pool slide is that important and you don't want to chance it, switch now while there is availability. The best pool is at Storm Along Bay at the Yacht/Beach Clubs - and they also offer club level. Oh no, :confused3 I'm probably not helping. BTW my kids loved the Poly, but we didn't use the slide at all and we had a great trip. Have fun with your planning.
