I just called Disney to check on availablity for AKL in Dec (WE are currently staying at POFQ). They have a standard room available for 350.00 more that what we are currently paying. We have a 40% code in our ressie. Do I jump on it thinking this might be the only opportunity to stay at the resort. Codes are very few and far between. She did tell me there is construction at the resort but would be nearing the end so shouldn't be that bad. Are the amenities that much better? Do I do it? Help me!!

I've stayed at both, and it's all preference. It's indoor room to room walk at AKL (vs. outdoor at POFQ, so if it's raining or cold you'll be walking outside all the way to your room). The rooms are slightly bigger at AKL (but not by too much that should make or break your trip). The pool is nicer at AKL, but it might be too cold to swim. It all comes down to preference and how much time you think you will be spending at your hotel. If you plan on spending a lot of time there, I'd go with AKL. If you're only going to be there to sleep and shower, I'd go with POFQ. Hope I was of some help!

AKL!!!!! Take it and run!!!! You should be able to use the pool in December...it is heated.

I would do AKL unless your kids are picky eaters. We stayed there (with picky eaters) and had an issue. But the place is great.

I have a 40% code as well, am considering jumping up to the CR Tower MK View for my Sept stay....I want to get the most bang for my buck!!

I would go for AKL!!!

Thanks everyone!!! We did it AKL it is! Now I'm even more excited. I figured this maybe the only opportunity we have to stay there. Like Disneybride said have to get the best bang for our buck.

Good choice, AKL is my favorite resort.
