Decision Time - Is Mickeys Halloween Party Really worth the $50

It was so worth the money imho.........the Parade (and the headless horseman) is something not to be missed. My ds loved being able to trick or treat at Disney!! :wizard:

Has anyone been to both the MVMCP and MNSSHP and seen both fireworks shows? How do they compare?

We have. MVMCP fireworks were the most awesome I have ever seen. Having them all over the park, was just breathtaking.

We went on September 30th last fall. We really enjoyed MNSSHP. Is it worth it money-wise? Probably not, but we knew it was a once in a lifetime chance for us--we normally won't be able to be at Disney in September/October. That said, we don't regret going. We entered the park around 3:30 and had an ADR at LTT at 4:00. We did not pay for park admission to MK (or any other park) on that day so we took the rest of the day easy. The decorations were awesome and the parade and fireworks were a nice change. DH liked the fireworks the best of any fireworks show we have ever seen at WDW. The park wasn't crowded and we really enjoyed the non-existent lines for Thunder and Splash Mountain. I'm sure Oct. 31st would be a crowded day for MNSSHP--Could you go to the party on another night while you are there? In summary, we had fun and I'm glad we went, but I'm not sure we would pay to go a second time. Good luck deciding!

Not sure if it's better, maybe similar. It's set to Halloween music with a Vincent Price type voice. It also has the 360 ending.

I enjoyed it and I enjoyed MVMCP fireworks as well.

We were there the same time as you and were at LTT @ 4 as well. My kids (and DH and myself) wore the same outfits as your kids to 1900 Park Fair and had pics w/ your Prince Charming! :rotfl2: :wave2:

FWIW, I talked to some CMs while down there who said they love the MNSSHP much better than the MVMCP.They like the "party" atmosphere better.

Our experience was NOTHING like what eyeore45 described (except the fireworks ;) ). Short lines, amazing characters (dancing with Suzy and Perla, seeing the villians, and other rare ones) and I'll still catch them singing "Happy Halloween Boo to You and you..." We had lots of chocolate (m&ms, crunch, can't remember what else) in our bags and generous handfuls. They also had a huge tub/box thing as you exited. They filled you up as you left. There was a line to check in for LTT, but after getting checked in, we were seated almost immediately.

I would definitely go again if I was there in late Sept./early Oct. , esp. on a weeknight when local would be less likely to join in.

I haven't looked at prices for this year, but we ordered ours online early and I'm prett sure the ticket prices (for 9/30) were $30 something. Buying in advance will hopefully still save you some $.

We're planning on going this year, but I am not using one of our park days since you can get in at 4. I figure we can see most of what we would on a regular MK day during the 7 or 8 hours we are there for MNSSHP. This was, we will only use 3 of our days from the 6 we have left, saving the other 3 for yet another trip. So, I don't feel like I am spending $40 extra for each of us. We will do a water park in the morning with one of our pluses.

Yes, we have and they are very comparable - just different themes (obviously). Long and with the appropriate stpries/colors and in the surrounding mode that is soooo awesome! :teeth:
