I do think you should tell him, but I voted to wait until you're relaxing in Spain. You also may want to get him a new sweatshirt - even if it isn't the same one he'll appreciate that you are trying to make up for the loss of the other one.

Don't Tell!

I accidentally threw away on of DH's zipper hoodies a couple years ago. Found it in the bottom of our closet as I was tossing out old clothes. Needless to say, when Fall came around he was looking for it . . .knowing it would be a HUGE mistake to tell him I threw it out I just shrugged and said "it'll turn up" "i'm sure it's here somewhere" If I ever told him I threw it out he'd probably have a tantrum.

Lesson to be learned by DH - Hang up your clothes.

Nah, tell him now, why ruin Spain? Go out to a Spanish rest, order margaritas, and say you cant stop feeling guilty about a mistake you made - hopefully he can forgive you... but why continue to beat yourself up, and then sweeten the deal with, can I replace it in Spain?

LOL! Tell him and you can both laugh about it! I once threw out DH's favorite pair of very old, very smelly hiking boots. They made the back hall closet smell like something was dead in there! I couldn't stand it anymore and threw them away. He kept asking where they were, and I just kept saying I didn't know. I didn't tell him until about 3 years later when we were having a garage sale. He remembered the missing boots, and I told him what I did. We both had a good laugh about it!
