Hi. My girlfriend and I are headed down to Orlando on Tuesday. We are doing 1 day at Universal, and 2 days in Disney. We don't have a hopper pass, so we will have to choose 2 parks to go to. We already selected Epcot as a must, because of the World Showcase, etc. Now, it's between the Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios. I have been down to Disney several times throughout my childhood....this will be her first trip. We are both 23 years old. Now, she mentionned she was interested in Tower of Terror....but also expressed interest in Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean. We are completely split on these two parks. Which would you recommend for someone who has never been to Disney World before? Thanks!

MK without a doubt. MGM is my favorite park, but I could not go to WDW withuot visiting the Magic Kingdom.

If it was up to me I would choose Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom as my two parks. So, I guess I would suggest Magic Kingdom. :thumbsup2

I agree with JRawkSteady. You can't go to WDW without going to the Magic Kingdom. Why don't you get hopper passes though, then you can get a taste of everything.

I love MGM but you could probably do it for just the morning and then hop over to epcot and enjoy everything there! Be sure to get to mgm early grab a fast pass for tot then jump in line for rnr or vis versa. enjoy your trip! It is possible to do all 3 parks in 2 days! I've done all four! Just prioritize what you want to do the most.

I forgot to say that if you only want to do one park in one day then i would say mk, definetly! :wizard:

Yeah, a hopper pass would definitely have been better....but since I am a poor grad student :lmao: we decided to kind of save money in one aspect of the trip. Therefore, we just went with a 2-day pass. Although now, I am regretting it...lol. I should have just caved in and got one

Definitely MK!! It is truly the heart of classic Disney and I can't imagine choosing MGM over it, even if it does have a few great attractions.

Actually, speaking of hoppers, is it possible to upgrade one of our tickets to hopper once we get down there? We already got our tickets in the mail a few weeks ago....how much would it be to make one of the days a hopper? This way, one day can be Epcot, and the other can be MGM/MK

Is it possible to get a 2 day park hopper? You could start at MGM, do the few rides you want to do there and then head to MK. Since she's never been there, I would be sure to see Spectro Magic and WISHES, as well as the classic rides (POTC, the mountains, etc).

From looking online, it looks like it would be about $80 more for the park hopper, but it might be worth it. If you can't do that then I would definately suggest the Magic Kingdom.

Sorry should have read the rest of the posts.

I don't think they let you upgrade once you have the tickets. If you really wanted too, it would be $126 for you each to buy admission to the third park. IMO it would be worth it. :sunny:

If you take your tickets to Guest Services, they will definitely upgrade them for you. I've seen this done many times before. You'd be paying for the remaining balance... I don't know the prices, but all that info should be right on the website.

I would pick MK. It is the best thought out park. It is very pretty there. Plus this way it gives you another reason to go back next trip. You will have more parks to do. The only thing with hopping being your first trip would be knowing what to see and not see and then having to hop to make good use of the time. Having been there and knowing your way around would make this easier.

I think that since you only have two days in the parks hopping would take alot of that time up. And your GF has never been to disney so certainly there is enough to do in each of the two parks you do pick. Who knows you all might become disney freaks and start plotting your return trip as soon as you get home. It doesnt hurt to leave things for the next trip (eaiser to convince some of the need to return). For me I would have to pick EPOCT and MK even thought MGM is my favorite park,
