Deciding between moderate and deluxe

For me it really depends on the price or if there is another reason I need the deluxe. I prefer a lower cost room to have more spending money and days at WDW. Also depends on price, if I can get a dvc points rental, they come out about the same as a moderate in cost and then there is no reason to not go big.

In all honesty, I could afford either hotel. I just can't imagine spending $2100 when the hotel is not worth the extra money.

My wife and I struggle with this same situation almost every time we go to WDW. If budget be damned, then go for the Poly. It is closer to MK, you can watch the fireworks from the Poly's beach and avoid the mass exodus. The electrical water pagent is pretty cool if you haven't seen that yet, etc....

Or, $2100 can buy a lot of food. POR is a nice resort, not far from MK, EPCOT or DHS.

These are some of the things we consider when deciding where to stay...... Other than what else we are doing the rest of the year for vacations. So, now that I confused you even more, I'm sure where ever you stay, you will have a good time

We have stayed Mod and deluxe and for our family the answer would be an easy 'no' not worth $2100 more. But you will read posts here, that for some, having an indoor hallway would make it "worth" it to them. We are also a family that spends time at the resorts and enjoys their amenities and for us, the Mods give us everything we need, indoor hallways, balconies and saving 15-20 minutes to or from a couple of parks is not worth a couple hundred more a night.

Having just stayed at Port Orleans Riverside with a party of 3, including my husband in a wheelchair, I'd suggest you also consider your tolerance to tight quarters. If you're not going to be in the room much then that shouldn't be a problem and, even if you are, there's a lot to be said for family togetherness, but the rooms at Port Orleans are about 150 sq ft smaller than the Poly deluxe studio. Both resorts are beautiful though!
