Decided on lens, but it's back ordered :/

So I think I'm going to go with the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8, except for it's back ordered everywhere. :/ Anyone know anything about this lens, like maybe how long it's been back ordered or anything about it? Has it been discontinued or is it just that popular? LOL

Which camera brand are you using? I know that they haven't even released the Sony version of the lens yet. Haven't had time, because demand has been so high.

Canon. Online it says the Canon, Nikon and I thought it was Sony, but maybe it wasn't, were all back ordered. Well at least it's not that they're discontinuing it. That's good. There's one available from a store on Amazon, but they've jacked the price up by $50. :/

The "other" brand is probably Sigma. (Yes, they also have a line of (somewhat odd mirrorless?) Cameras). There should eventually also be a Pentax version .

I have that lens, and absolutely love it!!! I didn't have to do a back-order when I bought it a couple of months ago. I did constantly stalk amazon and a couple of other sites though. I think it was sold out for a couple of weeks before a few sites got in just a few.

I honestly didn't even know you could order from Sigma directly. If possible I'd like to order from B & H. I have loved their service in the past and might have some reward dollars I can use.

A lot of it will depend on who might have it in stock when I have the money to order.

You're right, LOL, I can't order from them directly. Amazon wants to charge me $49 in tax now That totally sucks. B&H isn't taking online orders right now until another 12 hours. I probably could have waited, but I ordered from Adorama. I know they were having trouble a few years ago but I hope they got that all sorted out.

It's back ordered anyway and there's no telling when I will get it. Depends on who is on the list in front of me.

But I ordered this morning!! Can't wait till it gets here.
