I haven't done a character meal at DLR before (have done several at WDW). I'll be with DS 9 on Sunday 4/20 & want to do a big breakfast/brunch with him at approx. 10:45am - 11:45ish am.

- We'll be up at 6am & at the DL gate at 7:30am (won't have MM).
- Want to tour & collect FP early (duh;)).
- I think we could do some damage on a buffet at 11(ish) & might come close to getting our money's worth. :lmao:
- We both could order 2/3rds of the menu items at IHOP or Chili's (or better yet a little Taqueria :thumbsup2 ) & be happy.

Goofy's has brunch on Sunday till 2pm & I'm not sure what Stich's hours are. I'm leaning towards Goofy's because of the monorail & because it looks like a bigger menu....but maybe Stich's has better character interaction & fewer crowds.

EDIT - What are your favorite Food items at Goofy's & what characters will likely be there??

Thanks. :thumbsup2

I vote for Goofy's. Besides being on the monorail (saving that precious ride time) the food is really good. And I thought the character interaction was good at Goofy's. I also think there is a better variety of characters at Goofy's

I say Stitch. We've done both, and always LOVE Lilo and Stitch (fun, good food, festive, menu or buffet) but were not happy with Goofy's kitchen. Our character interaction was very poor, but I think we had a bad table. Also, for breakfast the food was "odd" (Pizza for example) but for brunch the food would be fine.

Stitch is just so darn fun!

Thanks guys. :thumbsup2

I booked Goofy's at 11am on Sunday 4/20. Primarily because:

- the monorail (we'll be in DL touring & collecting FPs).
- i'm hoping to stay at the PP sometime prior to year end.....when i do, I'll try out Lilo & Stich then.

So what are everyone's favorite items at Goofy's Breakfast - Lunch???

& what time should i get on the Monorail (in Fantasyland) in order to make our 11am reservation at Goofy's in the DH?

Thanks!

Good choice. We always do Goofy's. Did L&S once and were very disappointed. The food choices were limited and the character interaction was not well mananged. Everyone was allowed to mob the characters instead of waiting at their table.

Now, favorite food at Goofy's, mine is the PB&J pizza on the kid's table. YUM! But for real food, the salmon is really good as are the made to order omletes. My DS just piles his plate with bacon.

We had an 11am a few weeks ago and got in line for the Monorail at 10:30. There was only 1 running that day so we didn't want to take any chances. This trip we saw the most characters I've ever seen there. Usually we see about 6, but this trip we saw 9: Goofy, Pluto, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Alice, Mad Hatter, Chip, Dale, Baloo.

Just so you know, that wasn't our experience at all with L&S, so you might someday think about giving it another try. There was tons of food (with rice!), and the characters made a very definite pattern as they went methodically through the room. Until the fun stuff, where they played games and the bongo drums, of course. So it's not always like your experience. :)

Hound, to answer your subject line question, no, I don't think there'll be enough food for you two. ;)

Wish I could have helped with an answer for ya, but I've never been to Goofy's.

Got2Travel....thanks for all the info.

- btw....all males pile their plates high with bacon. :rolleyes1
- I'll try the PBJ pizza....but the menu also lists Sweet Corn Tamales, Breakfast Enchiladas & Mickey Waffles. :hippie:
- It also mentions a "Carving Station"......we Hounds are carnivores....Ham? Roast Beef? Anybody know?
- Baloo rocks!!! I hope he's there for us.
- Not usually much for the princesses.....but will Jasmine will be wearing that little aqua outfit showing off her abs? :rolleyes1

Thanks guys! :thumbsup2

We had quesadilla's, no tamales. But I have seen the tamales in the past. Roast beef was what they had at the carving station this time but I've seen ham there too. You asked for favorites which is what I gave. But have no fear, there are tons of choices and you and little hound will be sufficiently stuffed.

Oh...I posted pics from the trip in the DL Dining thread that is a sticky at the top, check it out.

I have heard reports from others who had a great time with L&S so I nkow it's possible. But we gave it a shot but it did not live up to Goofy's. We've been to Goofy's over a dozen times and never had a bad meal or character interaction, so we'll stick with that track record. But on the other side, I've also heard from people who have been to Goofy's and had a bad experience and won't go back. I guess it's all up to personal preference.

Thanks for all the info and pics. I've booked Goofy's for 11am on our departure day. I thought it would be a good way to end the vacation and would also let us get a good feed before we set of on the long journey back to Scotland. ;)

I've also booked the Lilo and Stitch breakfast for the middle of our stay at DL. This one is a surprise for DD6 as she just loves Stitch.

The sweet corn tamales are the best, but did not see them last trip. has any one seen them lately? I love the pb&j pizza too....and we do eat our moneys worth too godd thing we are not going on the same day :rotfl: , I don't understand the point of paying for a buffet and eating lightly!

ohhhhhhhh forgot to mention the deserts are awsome!

I am horrible. We are doing Goofy's, Lilo and Stitch, and Ariel's Grotto this time around. We've never done Lilo's and we're looking forward to it. And we can't go to Disneyland without going to Goofy's Kitchen.

The other day, I was trying, unsuccessfully, to open a single serve KoolAid packet to put into a bottle of water. I made a comment to 4 year old ds, "This better not happen in Disneyland. I won't have scissors." So my brilliant little man said, "Maybe Goofy can get it. He's good at fixing things!" LOL

So Goofy, if I ever need help opening a KoolAid packet, I know I can count on you!

that's great, I love it when the kids think Disney!

Brad K....Baloo looks in fine form! (when i grow up, i want to be just like Baloo!).

Thanks for the pic Got2Travel! Jasmine also looks to be in ..... ahem.....fine form. ;)

Sounds like lots of choices to be had.....& I'm sure Padewan Alec will be returning to the carving station multiple times. We'll definitely walk out of there "sufficiently stuffed" & i suspect we'll be happier to see the Carving Station, Baloo AND Jasmine than the gentleman in your pic.

;)
