Originally I was thinking my trip to WDW next year was going to be solo as my sons are now 21 and 22. Well the 22 yr old (with Aspergers) has decided he wants to go and wants to stay in a FW cabin out of the options I gave him that were within out budget. And now my mom is wanting to join us, so we are planning our dates so we will be at Disney for her 75th birthday. My mom took my brother and me to Disney in 1978 for our 1st trip, and we stayed in one of the old Fleetwood trailers, so there is definitely a nostalgia factor for me.

I'm planning to do at least 1 special meal out for her birthday, but I'm looking for a few ideas that might be fun for her at FW also. My mom is pretty active still for someone her age (she works at the food shelf in my hometown a couple days a week as a volunteer and still regularly does walks to raise money for cancer research).

I think a golf cart rental for a day (or as much as the budget allows). Great to see the whole campground. The campfire and movie, the MK fireworks from FW beach and the EWP at 9:45.

I would suggest the Segway Tour offered at the Fort for your mom. I did it with my father two years ago (he was 71 at the time) and had no trouble with it. The Segways are very bottom heavy so they are hard to tip over and impressively stable. And it's not something you can do every day or at home (there is also some sort of Segway tour offered at Epcot).

The Fort version is not cheap, though, it's about $100 and is offered at the Bike Barn once in the morning and again in the afternoon. We did it on a walkup basis but they do require a minimum number to conduct the tour (two CMs will be with you to show you the basics, then one leads and one brings up the rear) and we had a total of 4 people so there was plenty of time for questions and chit-chat. It lasts about 2.5-3 hours.

I think instead of walkup you can also pre-book it at 407-WDW-TOUR.
