We're renting points from a DVC member and are able to stay at the Beach Club Villas for 5 nights for just $700.00! (Booking direct through Disney would have been 1600.00) Staying one additonal night, however, would be an extra 320.00 since it's a Friday night so, since we're leaving that next morning we want to stay off-site.

I was originally thinking we needed a place near the BCV, but I doubt we'd be able to check in in the morning so I guess we have to pack up the van, do our thing that day (pools, parks, etc.) and then trek over to the hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations? Anyone ever done this before? I know people stay off-site the day before they check in, but not sure I've seen post about staying somewhere the last night.

We do this the first night most trips. How many people are in your party? Hawthorn Suites are nice and clean and include a free breakfast (http://www.hawthorn.com/). There is a Hawthorn Suite in LBV, one near Sea World and one close to the airport. We also like the Crowne Plaza on International Drive and have stayed there several times. Hamptons Inns are decent and include a continental breakfast. This May we are spending the first night at the newer Marriott Residence Inn, Lake Buena Vista (also a very nice breakfast buffet included). We are using points for a free night. I have two teenage sons and we need a place with two bedrooms. Mousesavers.com is a good place to check for discounts at off site hotels like Royal Plaza in Downtown Disney.
