JetBlue has some decent flights from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Long Beach (LGB).

The airfare for June 27 (Saturday) is $49.60. :thumbsup2

The airfare for July 5 (Sunday) is $79.60.

Round Trip (SLC/LGB) is $129.20. (Includes all taxes and fees.)

I just got airfare from Salt Lake to LGB for $39 each way!!! Instead of driving for 11 hours on Sunday May 24 and maybe going in for a little while that day, we are flying out on Monday early (7:40 am) and arriving about 8:30 am. We will pick up the car and take our stuff to HoJo and then hit the parks. We figure we can be there by 10:30 am and enjoy our day there. We are flying out on Thurs. night at 7:40 and plan to enjoy as much of the day at DLR as we can. :cool1:

Our original plan - drive 11 hours on Sunday May 24 and hit the parks when we got there. Stay at HoJo until Fri. May 29 and then leave early for the 11 hour drive home. So 4 to 4.5 days in the parks.

New plan - fly (for $39 each way) on Mon. morning May 25 and hit the parks by 10:30 am. Stay at HoJo and check out on Thurs. when we will leave at 7:40 pm to fly home. So 3.5 days in the parks. AND NO 11 Hour Road Trip!!! :cool1:

I would rather have a little less time at DLR (boo) and not have to drive, then spend 22-24 hours in the car with 3 kids ages 12, 7 and 4. :thumbsup2

Sweet!!! How did you get those great deals??!! I just went to look and the flights are at $69 for the lowest. Does jetblue have an alert thing that lets you know when airfare is low? Congrats on your deals! That is nice to not make the looong drive!

For the most part, it was just luck. :goodvibes

On Wednesday night Farecompare sent an e-mail announcing some cheaper fares from SLC to LGB.

On Thursday morning JetBlue had some lower fares, but the fares were higher again in the afternoon. :upsidedow

JMHO, it wouldn't hurt to register at www.farecompare.com.

At farecompare you can enter specific dates and flexible dates, and from time to time you might receive an e-mail alert.

Man I wish I'd have seen the $39 each way fare. Good find Shannon.

Thanks! :goodvibes Feeling really lucky about the fares I got. Not even bummed about shortening our trip a teeny bit, either - since I don't have to make the drive!!

S.S. that's a great fare on SW, too. I would take it!

I've never tried farecompare, I happened to catch this thread and decided to check out our dates and discovered if I tweaked it just a little, I could get great rates. Thanks for the original post S.S. Columbia!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you got a great rate! :goodvibes

Airfare from SLC had been holding steady at $186 R/T (for Sat/Sun in the summer).

Round-Trip (SLC/LGB) for $129 looked good to me, so I bought them right away. Non-stop, too. :cheer2:

And my DS7 and DD6 will be happy to learn that they don't have to sit in a car for 11 hours, each way. :cheer2:

Also got the $119 on Delta for June. I was thrilled...until I saw your $39 fares. Oh well, I'm going to forget I saw that and be happy that I saved $70 (for 3 tickets) from the current JetBlue rates. :cool1:

I had the $39 fares up and just needed to put in CC when I had to pick DS up from preschool. When I got home it had timed me out and the rates were double  next time he might have to wait ;) Thanks for the info on Delta. Still low enough that I might be able to convince DH to fly rather than drive.
