I have read with interest peoples experiences of WDW at different times of the year. My family and I are going Dec 2nd and are staying on I Drive. My son will be 6, me not much older! Has anyone got any tips on what will be available and what we should do? This is our second time and we are planning on buying 7 day passes for Disney and on day for Universal. IOA is not on the agenda as we feel our son would be too small and there are other things to occupy our time more productively. Any advice is gratefully received.

This recent thread gives a lot of great information about December travel.

We have been in December and found the parks very quiet indeed which is great for doing the rides and shows. The weather varied from nice pleasant sunny days to freezing!

Don't miss Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the Osborne Lights. the parks and resorts are all beautifully decorated too. Something else we enjoyed was the Candlelight Processional at Epcot.

I don't recall many attractions being "down" at all, though in any low season time it's possible - but the trade off is the quietness of the parks which is great

I think ruling out IOA is possibly a mistake. My daughter was 3 1/2 last time we went, and she loved the place. I would consider at least "hopping" there for a couple of hours during your Universal Day. My daughter loved Zeus's Landings area and went on the Flying Unicorn and Red Fish Blue Fish over and over again. It will be quiet in December, so the q's will be minimal. A six year old would fall short on height for the likes of Hulk and Dueling Dragons, but would be OK for Spiderman and Jurassic Park, and probably the water rides.
