Has anyone been to WDW in decemeber, what is the weather like.

Will it be shorts/t.shirt or jeans and t.shirt.

Has anyone done Mickey's very merry christmas party, we have seen the price and was wondering is it worth it?

It can be shorts and T shirts but it can also be coats, hats, scarves and gloves! We went over Christmas /New Year one year and saw frost most mornings. Several days it was below 40F ALL DAY LONG with a biting wind. You need to pack a couple of shorts and LOTS of jeans/track suits/ sweatshirts etc to dress in layers. A fleece is great but you will also need a warm jacket on top for evenings. And remember good thick socks.

Haven't done MVMCP so can't answer that one - sorry.

My boyf has been December and reckons that it's like our summer.

I'll be going to MVMCP.. I love everything about WDW Florida and I have no doubt that it will be worth every penny :)

Hi
We were there last December and the first week (first week of December) was in the 80's but our second week was freezing so I agree with the recommendation of what to pack as you see all the locals togged up in gloves, hats etc and I was freezing in 2 fleeces wishing I had packed something similar.
Must say that even though overcast only rained once so also make sure you pack/buy a poncho. :umbrella:

oOPS sorrt just saw last Q on your thread. MVMCP we thought was great. We also did this last year on a Tuesday and it was magical with snow falling on Main Street and hot chocolate and cookies.
Do a search on MVMCP via the DIS as there is a huge thread going on all about it something on the lines of Mickey's Very mERRY christmas Party Central 2005 the thread is called for loads of tips and other reports.
We thought it was that good we are going to sample MNSSHP in Oct.

Thanks for the info guys!!!!

I was thinking about taking DH, DD(Who will be 4 on our flight out) and DH birthday is on the 8th, and one of the party nights is on the 8th.

At least the weather should be better than in England.

We went in December 2004 and I think we were unlucky with the weather but in a twenty three night holiday we only had four days which were warm wnough for t shirts and vests. MVMCP was great fun though, I thoroughly recommend it!

I'm glad we went in December but I wouldn't go again :)

Having visited WDW at Christmas in 1999 and 2004, both times we have been in shorts one day and jeans and warm jackets the next! Coming from Scotland, it didn't seem right having Christmas Day in shorts anyway! On Christmas Day 2004 we had torrential rain from early morning until about 9pm, so bring something waterproof or buy a poncho!

At that time of year, it's best to be prepared but everything is lovely and I'm sure you'll enjoy your time there. We have done MVMCP twice and loved it!

I would agree with all that has been said about the weather - pack for all eventualities. MVMCP is great but be sure to make a PS as the restaurants can get very busy. We ate at Liberty Town Tavern, had a lovely meal and saw many characters who gave us pleanty of time for photos etc. This added to the magic of the evening for us.

Enjoy.

Make sure you let the hotel know it will be DD's birthday when you arrive - no promises but they you might get an upgrade or a balloon or something (if onsite of course :flower: )
