We have always gone to WDW in June, but now we are planning our first trip to the World in December. I'm used to the heat and the crowds, carrying a water bottle, and taking mid-day breaks to swim. What is the weather like in December? We'll be there the 20th- 23rd (short trip, but we want to be home on Christmas day). Do we wear shorts, pants, jackets? Does is rain? I just don't know what to expect. And what are the crowds like that time of year? Thanks for your help.

We are also traveling there for the first time in December (21 - 27th). We plan to pack a couple pairs of shorts, but mainly light weight sweat pants (jogging suits), jeans, etc. I've heard layering is the best -- T-shirt - fleece sweatshirt, jacket....I plan to check one of the internet weather websites about 10 days out and pack based on their forecasts. :thumbsup2

Hi there! I live a tad West of Orlando and visit The Mouse every Dec. My advice is to plan on anything from sunny and 80 to rainy and 30. The weather's totally unpredictable that time of year, though it's usually around 70ish and sunny during the day. Layers are a must, as the mornings and evenings are much cooler than mid-day. I suggest chekcing in at weather.com the day before you leave, too, to see what's being forecast.

Thanks for posting this question -- I am wondering on this too. We will be visiting 12-14 to 12-21. Last time I was in FLA in December was in the 70's (1970's). I remember wearing shorts while my FLA cousins were winter coats. Any attire advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I should plan on taking more clothes than we usually do in June.

We normally go in December and have experience weather ranging from the high 70’s to the “I am freezing my rear end off!” weather. As another poster stated, you will need to plan for almost everything and dressing in layers is definitely the way to go. My other advice is to pack everyone some gloves. The same stretchy gloves which you can buy for under $1 a pair at home sold for $8 in the parks. After coughing up $8 for each pair one year, I don’t leave home without them in my suitcase.

when we went in December a few years back. I had a pair of those little gloves in my pocket of my winter jacket.....THANK GOODNESS.........two days we were in the 80s and two days in the low 40s........their cold down there is different then our cold......I was FROZEN..
