What tips could you suggest to a fellow DVC member about a WDW December vacation? Best time to have pictures taken at Mickey's Christmas Party, fun stuff to see and do, etc...

The first two weeks of December are our favorite time to visit. The Christmas party thing is good, Snow on Main Street, cookies and milk, family portraits, sometime short lines, its something to do once for sure.

The crowds are generally pretty low, the weather is unpredictable, but definitely not sweltering.

The resorts are al decked out. We usually make plans for luch at a few different resorts, both to check out the decorations and try the resort eateries.

We will be there again this year, at OKW, of course.

Be sure to leave time to visit as many resorts as possible as they are really nicely decorated and uniquely decorated for the holidays. Also, be sure to spend time in each of the World Showcase countries at Epcot as they have story tellers and native decorations.

We've done the first or second week of December the past 3 years and loved it.

Tips for MVMCP:

Alot of people find a spot for the first parade as soon as they arrive and then sit there for 90 minutes waiting. Not a good idea.
Go to the back of the park as soon as you arrive. It is empty back there, everything is walk-on. Get your picture taken at Small World or Lion King, no wait. Try to see one of the shows early. Last year we saw the show at the Diamond Horseshoe and it was good. Then ride as much as you can before the first parade lets out. See the fireworks, they are shot from 6 directions and are spectacular. Then see the second running of the parade, much less crowded.

Thanks for your timely responses and thanks DebbieB for the tips you posted as well. They're all going to be helpful as we plan our first Christmas time visit to our favoritest place in the world to go to.

p.s. If you haven't seen it yet, go to Monsters Inc. We saw it opening day and it was excellent!!! Another slam-dunk for Disney/Pixar. Bring a camera because they have lifesize characters at the theater. The kids can pose with them...

We love Disney at Christmas! You'll have a wonderful time. Don't miss the Osborn Lights at MGM Studios. It's unbelievable. We really enjoy taking Christmas photos in the hotel lobbies in front of the trees. Everything is decorated really beautiful. Try to find Mickey and Minnie dressed as "Santa" and Mrs. Claus at Epcot. We got some adorable pictures with them last year. Another fun photo opportunity is the putt putt place Mickey's winter summerland. It has a Christmas theme year round, but it's even more fun at the real Christmastime. We got cute pictures in Santa's sleigh there. Have a great time!!!
