Can you tell me what the weather will be like? Wondering if we should expect rain? This is going to be our first Christmas trip to DLR can you tell me your favorite thing about DLR at Christmas? Thanks for the help.

The decorations are lovely. We had a great time, but it can get cold and rainy as happened during our trip last Dec 14th. After two days in the parke between the cold and spitting rain, we left. That is not to say it willnot be gorgeous for your visit... Who can predict from one year to another or one week to another in Dec? Just go and hope for the best.. We still had a great time and I am sure you will as well.

We went in December 08 and never seen any rain. It was cool in the mornings and evening times and nice during the day I would say 65 to 70.
We loved all the decorations they had up for Christmas time. The trees, the light poles, etc...

I was there dec 8-12 rained first day next few days were good 60-70 degrees but it gets way cold at night so bring jacket and gloves hands about froze.

There's no telling during the day but the nights are very cold. So make sure you bring something very warm to wear.

It does not rain in December but it does get cold. The parks are super cold at night so make sure to bundle up. I tend to bring a beanie, scarf, gloves, and a warm really warm jacket. On New Years Eve I wore layers of clothing and still felt like I was freezing. But then again 72 degress is cold to me.

Thanks for all the help. Im in Az so 68 is cold for us. Guess I will be getting gloves and hats for all, wow that will be a first. Bet I will be one of the few Arizonians buying winter garb.:rotfl: Anyway I will be praying for the next 6 months that it doesn't rain.:sunny:

Ok.. I will clarify. It did not RAIN per se. It sprinkled and was very cold. Those two together made me very uncomfortable when early evening came. After two days of this, we decided we would come back in nicer weather. Coming from Arizona as well, perhaps we expected the warmth we are used to having on our other visits to California. Bottom line, even though it did not pour (which we are used to happening on trips to WDW, ) we were more uncomfortable with the damp chill we experienced. I did not want to be ill for Christmas and was more concerned with having a good family holiday than another cold damp day which was projected so we headed home early.

December 2004: It rained when we were down between Christmas and New Years. Not prepared for rain, so got wet, but rain stopped and I was able to dry my coat out.

December 2005: No rain week before Christmas.

In December 2006, I went around the 14th and 15th and it rained so hard they nearly cancelled the parade and did cancel the fireworks on one day. The park was pretty empty on account of the rain, but since I was outfitted in a storm jacket(prepared this time), I was dry as a bone and took advantage of the very light crowds.

In December 2007, on almost the same dates, I went back and it did not rain, though it did get cold. So, it can rain anytime in December, but don't let rain wreck your visit. A poncho, pants, and warm clothing make it very doable and quite enjoyable. For more thoughts about a Disneyland visit in December, my trip report below is now complete and loaded with pictures.

Sorry - I am laughing. :rotfl2: I will explain why...
I am still dreaming that we are going to be lucky and finances will allow us another trip this year, and I really really really want to go in late Nov or Dec, so I was quite interested in reading these posts. I began to be concerned, however, with all the mention of warm clothes, gloves, heavy warm coats, etc...I was beginning to worry that we'd freeze. Plus, how much more luggage would I have to bring with all the heavy, warm clothes???
So I did the temp conversion (here we use celcius) and discovered that average temps in Anaheim in Dec (around mid 60's) are WARM compared to what we experience here! To give you an idea, our average December temp is equivalent to about 5 degrees F!

So I guess we will be warm enough at mid 60's!! Probably won't need to pack the winter parkas....:cool1: :santa:

We are notorious wusses here in SoCal.

The temperature range in the winter can be extreme and it can get very cold at night. I would definitely bring some warm gear if you plan to go to the park after the sun sets in the winter. But it's not 5 deg F, though, more like 5 deg C.
