Hey folks,

Now I have never stayed off site on a trip to Disneyland with my family. But with the finances the way they are I need to scale back the cost of the trip a bit. Best way for that is to do off site stays. Should I just go with the hojo? Or is ther a better option I should consider?

It depends on your needs. If you can come up with an entertainment rate (probably not at this point), then the hojo is tough to beat. As for the other hotels – Best Western PPI, Tropicana, Desert Inn & Suites etc., I don’t know that there is really all that much difference between them. Some have larger rooms or an additional bed, some have bigger pools, some have a free breakfast… It depends on what is important to you, or maybe in this case which is cheaper. Check the hotel websites, call the hotels directly, and see what you can find on Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity and other travel websites. I have come up with really good deals in the past on these websites. We have never stayed onsite at DLR and probably never will.

HoJo has some mid December and a few very early Dec. dates that still have the Ent. Rate available. We love to stay there and had a great time in early Dec. last year. I will be there again next Thursday!

FYI - you can get a disBoards rate of 15% off if you ask for it or 20% if you have an AP.

Here is the HoJo link so you can check your dates. http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14

If you let us know what things you are looking for in a hotel then I think we can better help you decide which one you should try. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.

I suggest booking at Hojos if you can get the Ent rate. Otherwise, Fairfield Inn was also a great hotel to stay at. In fact I think we'll be looking to stay there from now on as it's a bit closer to the park and they have room service and are closer to the nearby restaurants. I think any major hotel chain can't do you wrong. Check out this thread:

And if you really want to go cheap, if you're driving or don't mind ART this thread from micechat:
http://micechat.com/forums/so-cal-hotel-reviews/81895-how-use-priceline-your-advantage-anaheim.html Some of the 3.5* hotels have their own shuttle too. You can get rooms here for around $50 through Priceline.
