December trip, crowds etc??

We will be making our first trip to Disneyland, probably Dec 16-23 with 3-4 days in the parks and the rest touring LA and so. Cal. I would REALLY like opinions on crowds, which days for the parks, and any tours of LA you would recommend.

The busiest day I've ever been to Disneyland was on Christmas Eve day. Met some friends there. Must of been out of my mind. You couldn't even walk. And I thought Grad Night was crowded!

I am hoping that , like DW, Disneyland wont be crowded until a couple days prior to christmas.

Typically that is a good time to go. Things pick up on Christmas Eve and stay crazy until Jan. 2nd. This year, Christmas is Monday. I'm guessing things will pick up around Friday Dec. 22. I would go to the parks early in the trip.
