We plan to be in the parks December 15/16. It looks like the black out dates for all APs begin the week after our visit. We were in the parks Dec 15/16 two years ago in 2007, and found crowd levels were really low. I haven't really kept up with AP news since we've never purchased one. Were the lower priced SoCal APs available back in 2007? I guess what I'm trying to find out is if anything is significantly different than when we last went in 2007, and is there anything could potentially change crowd levels this year, as opposed to 2007? Thanks for any insight - we've considered changing our dates because of all these threads about the parks being less crowded during blackout dates. But I fear that Christmas week, with schools being out, will be worse.

Crowds will be insane during Xmas break, regardless of the blackout on AP's. You couldn't pay me to go then. (Ok, not really, but no way I'd go by choice).

You shouldn't notice much in the way of crowds on Dec 15-16. Schools are still in session and you're going mid-week. It's the perfect time to go!

Can't help with dates, but keep in mind, dates are blocked out because they are expected to be crowded.

The 15 & 16th are a Tueday and Wednesday. I wouln't worry about crowd levels those days. Actually I will be in the park on the 15th too. After Friday expect crowds to pick up until new year. I would not, ( and didn't) change my trip because of crowds. Read all of hydroguys tips for a great trip

I've been to Disneyland every year during December since 2003. No matter what day of the week, if schools are out anywhere in the west, not just southern California, then the parks, especially Disneyland, will be crowded.

On the other hand, every time I've visited during a weekday (Monday through Thursday) in the first two weeks of December, the parks have had very low crowds. Keep in mind though that if it's a weekend (including Fridays, and especially Candlelight Processional weekend which is not blocked out), then Disneyland will likely be very crowded.

Thanks everyone :goodvibes. We'll definitely keep our dates, and hope that crowd levels are similar to our last big trip. We used Ridemax in 2007, but I think we've learned enough through the boards that we can plan ourselves this time - with Hydroguys tips of course! Leofoenget - are you listed on the December trip thread?

I'll be there the 12-16th, we are not expecting it to be very crowded then at all. We went in 07 around those dates and it was not crowded at all.
