December Studio Availability

I am just looking for advice on getting a studio in December. We own at Aulani so we don't visit WDW on a regular basis. We are looking at going the week before Christmas. What are the chances of landing a studio for Dec 14-17 (a weekend) at the 7 month mark at either Boardwalk or Beach Club. I need one that can sleep 5. Thanks for the help!

I do not want to be a downer, but I think it will be very difficult. But anything can happen.

One thing you might want to consider is renting points if possible. Then rent out your Aulani points out to offset the expense. For in the neighbor hood of 2-3$ per point (the rental broker's commission) you can sort of "convert" your aulani points to boardwalk (or beach club) points, so for about 100-150$ you can kind of ensure you get what you want. Just an option...

All depends on how important it is to you that you use your points and get BWV or BCV.

At BWV and BCV, I think your odds are very poor. Both are small resorts that will book before 7 months for that weekend.

Your best odds for that weekend would be to get a 1BR that sleeps 5 at AKV, SSR, or OKW.

I think you have a shot - both are available right now. However, you almost certainly won't get either standard view or Boardwalk view.

That said, studios go very quickly for those first 2 weeks of December once the 7th month window opens. You may find your nights booked before your window opens on May 14 (by people who are arriving before you and book the whole week). Consider either walking the reservation or renting BWV / BCV points so you can book before the 7 month windows open for December stays.

I also think there's a shot. Even if not available when 7 month comes around book something that is and then waitlist. I'd also consider PVB and think that will likely be available.

It occurred to me this morning to rent points and then rent out some of our points. I have never done this before...would it be easiest to go through David's?

There's no data yet on the Poly on this thread so that's a "maybe".

We have never rented but if we did I would use David's I think....

SSR 1 bedroom doesn't sleep 5...I think it's only AKV, BLT & OKW right now...

The occupancy limit allows for 5, but you have to bring your own bed for the fifth person.

BRV and CCV are going to be tough, even at 1BRs, because "oooh WL at Christmas!!!" BLT was not on the list because I don't like the odds at 7 for those weeks.

Those 3 tend to have the most availability. Only OKW and AKV have the chair, but you can put 5 in SSR.
