I have been going the last to years to WDW is Nov. Now that's it's not the value season, I need to find another good time to go.

For those of you who have gone sometime durning the first 2 weeks in Dec, or anytime in Jan. How slow is it then? How cold does it get in the day?

I can't seem to decide which month would be better. I think I perfer The second week in Dec, but I am afriad it must be crowed then??

Jan is light except for the first few days in the month and the time arround Martin Luther King Day. The first two weeks in December are more crowded than the light part of Jan although still not overbearing. The big advantage of December is that all the Christmas decorations are up, including the Osborne Lights display at MGM, and Christmas events are going. First two weeks in December are usually mild and warm, although you can get some cool days. January is usually more unpredictable -- it can be warm (70's and even higher) or quite cool and that usually depends on the severe cold fronts that can often drop down out of the artic over the midwest and then travel south to southeast and eventually hit Florida. If you hear it has dropped to below zero in Chicago, you will likely see highs in the 50's or possibly even 40's in Orlando about 4 days thereafter.

Are the first 2 weeks in Dec less crowed then it has been in Nov? When I went this year and last year, I thought it was quit busy. I just would like to go when it is less busy then it was in Nov.

I believe the second week of December is Pop Warner Week so that's be worse than the first week. We'll be there the first week : )

Its hard to predict how December weather will be. I've been when its in the high 70's and also much cooler temperatures. We pack for any weather.

I would always choose December over January only because for me, Disney World is "extra" magical due to the decorations and Holiday festivities. We always plan our trip to fall during the first 3 weeks, to avoid the mass holiday crowds.

We usually go in December and sometimes in January. The weather at best is unpredictible we have experience both extremes and everything in between in both months. I would probably choose December over January because of MVMCP which my family and I love, and maybe a little less chance of the extreme weather.

Also, if you love the waterparks, one will be open in December and the other in January. I think they may rotate which one will be open when, but not sure.

We have only gone the first couple of weeks in each month and the crowds may be a little less in January, but not that big of a deal.

We were there on marathon weekend in 2004 and despite the presence of 25,000 runners/walkers and their families, I have never seen the parks so empty. Everything was a walkon.

As Soccer Mom said above, the weather is very unpredictable. The morning of the marathon the temperature was in the upper 30s, and that afternoon it got into the low 50s. But it can be warm in January too.

When we went in December, 1994 it was warm for three days, cool for one, and cold for one.

The December weeks will likely be comparable to your November time (other than Thanksgiving week which is much more crowded); Jan, except first few days and MLK time, will be less; Sept after labor day also. Note, there was a time in the ancient history of WDW when there were many weeks that were truly light -- you couldn't find a line except for Dumbo even if you tried. Based on what I have seen change over the years, those times are gone; though you can still find times lighter than much of November, you should not assume the abscence of crowds anytime.
