I'm Dec 9-16 and have a minivan at Alamo for $256 including taxes. I can live with that, but wondering if anyone has found a combination of codes and coupons at Alamo/National getting a better rate?

no and i am waiting, my sis has a total of 239.00 alamo dec 9-18 for a trailblazer

I just used the amex code 5125601 with the $20 off weekly rates and went from $312 to $211 with National and also a emerald club member which seems to help with the rates

We have Alamo for 12/1-12/6 at 196 for a full size - I checked yesterday and the price has gone up by almost $75 - I'm glad I made that ressie long ago!

I won't rent from Dollar. I need to be get a long wheel base minivan because we have 6 people plus an ECV.

No movement at all on National. A little surprising as usually they go up if near capacity or down if not. I suspect Magic Express has changed the way they do business.

No change at all on ours with National. Used American Express code and a coupon from National's website for $20 off. We are paying $183.31 for an intermediate December 16 - 23 (we are Emerald Club members). I am happy with that price but I had hoped it would go down a bit.

Dec 1-6, National, using AMEX code and $20 coupon, total of $125 for Emerald Isle.

Used AMEX and free day award at National. Without those I thought the price for 3 days was outrageous.

This is what I have (different dates) 6 days at $125.

Not sure if this will help you but Budget sent out an email today for a mini-van rental at 199.00 a week... here is the code that was in the email BCD U030093! If you need me to forward you thie email just pm me!

Alamo looks like it is dropping but it still is not lower then my original rate, but i will wait and see.

Thanks for the update - I'll have to check mine!

I checked Alamo and National this morning and base rates are still higher than what I have now. Even with coupons and codes they are way over $300 for my dates. Yuck.
