December Bahamas Cruise Weather

Hello! We are thinking about moving our spring break (first week of April cruise) to the week after Christmas. Curious about the weather at the end of December. I’ve looked up historical trends, but was hoping to hear from others who have sailed that time. How is the water temperature at castaway cay or on on deck? We would probably go to Atlantis for the Nassau day. Are those pools warm?

We have sailed in mid January the last two years (Dream and then Wish). We froze in FL before we got on the ship, but everything sailing was great!

Yes water at Castaway can be chilly, but a few minutes in the sun and we were hot again!

Obviously, the weather could be doing something unfortunate (e.g., a ton of rain).

Also sailing that same week on the Dream again this coming January.

We've sailed the first week in January. Water temps were cooler than summer obviously, but the beaches were warm and wonderful. As PP stated, FL was chilly but the ship (Fantasy) was comfortable the entire cruise.

Obviously the weather varies from day to day and year to year. When we were on the Wonder in early January several years ago the seas were too rough to dock at Castaway Cay, tho the captain made several attempts. We still had a great cruise.
