Hi everyone! I have been reading your info for about a year now, and your advice has been invaluable. I'm hoping to glean a little more wisdom out of this great group.

My husband and I are starting off our holiday vacation in Orlando, and are staying at RPR from December 17-20. We plan to go to IOA on the 18th (we are Harry Potter geeks) and USF on the 19th. We went to WDW the week between Christmas and New Years Eve last year, so I am hoping the crowds are at least no worse than that debacle was.

My main question is about the Revenge of the Mummy ride. I just found out that I am expecting, but my doctor cleared me to go on mild roller coasters and all simulators. (Thank goodness, I wasn't missing FJ if I could help it!) But I've never been to USO before, so I have no idea what to expect. How 'wild' or 'tame' is the Mummy? Is there anything comparable to it at WDW so I can make a better judgment on it?

I'll also take any first-timer tips you have to offer. Are lanyards and fanny packs acceptable in lieu of bags to be locker-free? Are the crowds worst in the afternoons like WDW? Any 'beat the crowd' tips? Are we crazy to go the weekend before Christmas? Your expertise and insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

First off, congratulations!

Secondly, Revenge of the Mummy has a short launch kind of like Rock 'N Rollercoaster over at Hollywood Studios. The rest of it, while fast, is pretty tame.. like a sped-up Space Mountain. There's no inversions either.

Hope that helps!
