We decided over Thanksgiving that we're going back to Chico for Christmas so I think we won't put up our tree here. I'm leaving for our Dec. cruise in just over a week. Our tree goes in the living room and we spend our time in the family room/kitchen area anyway. It's the spirit, not the decos, after all, isn't it?

yep!!

New tree here and it would be decorated if it weren't for the first segment having a bad connector so the other sections wouldn't light up. Glad it came with a 5 year warranty.

My sister just bought this new gadget that actually fixes strings that won't light up. You just plug one of the light sockets into the gadget, and pull the trigger until the lights come back on. I saw her use it yesterday and I am going to buy one. I have no idea how it works but it does.

So, nothing like waiting until almost the last minute to hop into this thread, but I'm also going to be on this cruise with my DH and our five kids (don't laugh!), our babysitter, my mother, her husband and my 2 siblings.

Looking forward to possible meets although with five kids, one never really knows. It may end up just being me waving maniacly while trying to wrangle the children into one place. Imagine trying to herd cats.

I'm sure my kids would love to interact with someone other than their siblings. My son is 8, and the girls are 6, 5, 3 and 16 months.

Hopefully DH and I will get a chance to meet some other parents of youngsters also! :)

ETA: Oh, Lord. I just realized this is the 2013 trip. Hi. I'm blonde. My children have eaten my brain. Pay no attention to the crazy lady that can't read. Ugh. Off to find the right thread....

The stand actually lights up if connected directly, so the problem is between strands. It's under warranty, so they are replacing it.

Hey all! I'm still sick and off to the doctor today to check the flu isn't now pneumonia :( It's a good thing it's this year and not next as I'd be worried it'd ruin our holiday!

We're booked in at Kingstown Reef for the week before the cruise. The dates are tentative but booked as we can't book our flights yet so we hope to work those around the booking. We plan to spend most of that week at WDW with maybe a down day in between for shopping/relaxing. We will hire a car for that week. Is anyone familiar with that part if international drive? I saw on google earth there's a big outlet place nearby but is there a Walmart/Target or a good supermarket close by that we can go to? Is the traffic really bad there as it's such a big road? Also, we will need to get to the ship from there, how far/long will it be? Cab? Private shuttle? Maybe this is something Phil might know more about once they've moved over? Should I just start a separate thread for all of my questions instead?

Well should get up and get ready for the doctors now.

Have a nice day everyone :)

I was just being silly!!:rotfl2:

Having our first snow fall of the season...I HATE snow and the cold.....:furious:

Although I don't mind a little snow on the ground Christmas morning.

Just found this page! My family and I will be sailing with you guys! We booked last July and just got back from a 8 day trip to WDW in Nov. I am excited for the cruise and the planning! I am a huge Disney fan!

We're a family of 4 my children will be DD7 and DS4, this is our second DCL cruise.

:welcome: aboard. check out our website (in my signature) and join the roll. We leave for the world next Thursday. :cool1:

Went to the doctor yesterday and he's not sure yet if it's pneumonia or just a chest infection from the flu, but I am on antibiotics and if it doesn't get any better by the end of the course I have to go back and he'll do x-rays and tests.

Around this time next year we'll be probably getting ready to get on a plane for Orlando :goodvibes

It's 88-89F here today, rather humid and quite breezy. I'll swap you :thumbsup2

I love snow as a tourist, but I think the novelty of it would definitely wear off quickly if I had to live and work in it.
