I'm planning a short 2-day trip with my daughter who lives in OC December 5-7. We have been season pass holders for years, but didn't get one this year, so I bit the bullet and bought park hoppers. I have a hotel ressie, but had trouble with many of the walking-distance hotels, AND the Disney hotels all being full these dates. Anyone know what's going on? I checked the Convention Center site, but didn't see anything. I am hoping for relatively easy crowds, but I know that's getting harder and harder to come by.

Park hours for those days are 8am-12am which usually means Disney is expecting it to be busy. I think it will be very busy with people coming to see the park for the Holidays, not due to any specific special events.

This week has been booked up everywhere for months- but later weeks that are usually busier are not booked this year. We arrive 12/4 so hoping it won’t be as busy as I fear lol I’m sure it has a lot to do with AP blockout dates coming up shortly after

It's insane how many people I know who are visiting DL "the first week of December" because that keeps being mentioned as a possible low-crowd time.

I fear it's the new "end of February," which turned into a hot mess this past Feb. with everyone hearing it's a "good" time to visit and therefore all showing up and turning it into a bad time to visit! But the huge difference now is that DL has actually extended hours (!!!) and there won't be a park full of refurbs. So it should be ok! But crowded.

I think maybe people who have been the first week of December, but perhaps have not gone for a few years, are telling people how "unbusy" it is. If you have gone the past couple of years, you know otherwise. And based on hotel and entertainment bookings, it seems this year will be even worse. I am going next week too-as that is the only time that works for me- but I truly do miss this week being fairly quiet. As I have gone the same week for several years, but feel I need to do much more planning now. But I know I will still have fun.
