December 2013: We just booked!

We are arriving on Sunday. (16 people) some are adding on the added day to make their park pass 6 days instead of 5 and doing DHS so they can see fantasmic.

The rest of us want to check in- go to 3 resorts for viewing holiday decorations then heading to downtown--- with swimming when we get back. I want an early night so we can make ropedrop.

I am expecting an early flight--8am with getting up early etc.

I think Tuesday sounds best too. I am debating Sunday though because we will have just gotten there on Saturday and it will be a lovely way to kick off the trip. I find by the end of the week the *newness* of being at Disney has worn off if that makes any sense.

I called disney and they gave me a couple of days that MK is closing early which is when they think the cp is gonna be.

cp? Candlelight Processional is in Epcot.

MVMCP - on the calender- when you see the park is closing at 7pm more then likly that is a party day

Just got my airline tickets for December! We were waiting for Southwest's fares to come out in may, but USAir's fare came down from $347/per person roundtrip to $248 for the times we preferred so I said to my agent to grab it before it went up again.

I literally just did a little happy dance around the room. :cheer2:

I'm really going!

Hello, my fiance and I are planning for December as well! We became engaged at the World and nothing makes more sense to us than spending our honeymoon there too. We've always gone during the holidays because the crowds are so low and the weather is MUCH more bearable. We're pulling for 6 night/7 day stay at a deluxe studio at Kidani Village, SO EXCITED! :woohoo:

We will be there the same time as both of you! Looking at past years I would guess the party will be held on Sundays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays. We are looking at going Tuesday, the 17th since the last few parties tend to get busier and busier. Hoping to avoid massive crowds.

I'm thinking we will go to the party on the 17th as well!! :thumbsup2

What airport? I still see our Usair at almost 300.

even with paying for luggage-- you are still ahead at least now you also dont have to worry about the seating arrangements.

If usair dropped it to that for me-- i would be dancing right with you

Philadelphia International Airport. They also had the earlier flight out we wanted and the later flight returning. I. Am. So. Stoked!:cool1:

Is anyone else making a long drive instead of flying? We drive every time we go and our drive takes around 24 - 27 hours one way.

We'll be driving. We'll leave at the kids bedtime and drive straight through. We should arrive around noonish.

Hi! I am moving on over here from the September thread...we decided we wanted o experience Christmas in Disney! well, I am not crazy enough for actual Christmas but we will be there December 3-12th staying at all star Movies, or AOA....most likely ASM b//c it is a bot cheaper....and we do not spend a lot of time at the resort....we like rope drop!

This is our second trip to Disney, we were there August 2012. Our party includes myself, DS 7, and my mother! This trip will be celebrating christmas, my Birthday, and moms retirement.

I cannot wait to see the castle full of lights! Candlelight Processional, the storytellers, MVMCP, etc. i love everything Christmas.

For those that have been in December before, is it necessary to do a CP dining package? What ar the benefits?

Also does December have a facebook group?

Happy to be planning with everyone!

We are excited about going to WDW in December, too. pixiedust:

Just so you know, Pop Warner kids will most likely be staying at the AllStar Sports resort starting the weekend of Dec 6th. They can be rather noisy.

Hi All! :goodvibes

We were at Disney last December 8-15th last year and am thinking about going again this December !!!

Does anyone know which date the Christmas parade taping might be?

We want to try and go from the 4-13th this year but just am curious about the parade taping and pop Warner...

Thanks everyone....we just had the most fabulous time last year if you haven't been to Disney at holiday time you are in for a treat!

In case anyone missed the post on the Main Theme Parks forum..
Tickets for MVMCP go on sale TOMORROW:yay:.

Here is the link to the Touring Plans blog with the dates and prices..http://networkedblogs.com/KNrrN

Now, it doesn't mention anything about AP discounts but my AP expired yesterday anyway:headache:

Someone please help me decide if we should go to the one on the 15th ( a Sunday) or the 17th (a Tuesday).
Here are my thoughts..
The 15th would be nice because we'll have gotten there the day before and will still be at the very start of the trip when our energy is high. It sounds like a lovely way to kick off the trip. I keep picturing Sunday as way busier though I have no reason for that. It's still a school and work night for locals.

The 17th would be a Tuesday and we'd have likely already been to the MK by then so it wouldn't be quite as special. I was picturing a Tuesday to be a little quieter but honestly I don't think that makes much sense.

Any thoughts?

We went on a Tuesday in 2011. It was very crowded. By the time everything started, the square was so packed you could barely move. My wife couldn't take all the people. And I would suggest if you go to the MK before the MVMCP starts and plan to be in the park when it begins, that you actually go to the exit or find out before hand where you can get your wristband. We were already in the park and were stopped because we didn't have a wristband. We were forced to go get one. Even on the way to get a wristband we were stopped twice.

Thank you for the info:)
I think we've decided to go with the Sunday party. I'd like our first MK day to be a party day. I was hoping to buy them online but it doesn't look like I can from the Canadian website so I'm off to call. I hope the wait isn't too long.. maybe I'll wait a bit.

Just bought my tickets for Sunday the 15th!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Operation Christmas Surprise Trip is coming together:santa:
