We are. It's kinda sad that they took away Jaws. We are also going to Islands of Adventure. We went the year HP opened up. We loved it there. Can't wait to get back there.

cjlvsccm -- I'm going to be at AoA at about the same time! Are you in a family suite or in the double room? We will be in The Little Mermaid regular room, I can hardly wait to see it. :yay:

Hi Suziewan!:wave2:

We'll be in Little Mermaid also... have requested king bed. No suite in our future unless we take my nephew again :scared:. Hubby thinks the LM room theming is a bit dorky for just us, but he's also so anxious to see the resort that it overrides the decor!! :rotfl2:

cjlvsccm -- When I first called and talked with a CM about the reservation she was worried that my DS might not like the LM room, but he really doesn't care at all, and he happened to love that movie when he was 3-4 :)

Can anyone suggest any particular restaurants to celebrate DS's 8th birthday? Is there one that you found really fun for kids?

Please have patience...this is my very first post!!!

We are booked at AoA, Nemo room, Dec 9-15. First family trip with my parents, DH, DD 4 and DS 3. I just got my MVMCP tickets today for 12/11 and found you guys so I'm SUPER excited!!

Welcome! ...plenty of great folks here...an incredible wealth of Disney knowledge, (and many other Orlando attractions too!)

MVMCP...such a blast!

Hi all,

Just made our plane reservations and are 6 months out so it is time to get excited. I am Gina, my husband is Douglas and our 10 year old son is Sean. We purposely picked our dates based on the best week of the year for low crowds. I have never been to Disneyland or WDW during the holidays!

We are going to IoA for a day, mainly for Harry Potter (for the adults in our group), but my daughter will love Suess Island, and my son will love Marvel. I think it will be worth it for us.::yes::

Welcome! We are going to MVMCP on Dec. 11 too!

Oh yeah and I started my 6 months until Disney World Diet today! LOL. I did Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred this morning, going to walk tonight....and keep up with that routine until June 1st then I will add in the gym for about 5x per week(atleast for the summer). I know WDW is "pooh friendly" but...I really would prefer not to be Pooh-ish come December. LOL. :rotfl: pooh:

Finally got time to sit down with the Crowd Calendars and my spreadsheets. Still waiting for Dec updates on TP and EasyWDW but not expecting it to change much at this point. So we officially have a park plan. And I talked to DH and we decided to go forward with the split stay idea.

So right now we're booked at BWV from Dec 3 - 15. But it looks like we'll switch to AKL - Savannah View on the 11th. We're taking the in-laws with us for their first trip, so the planning has been a little trickier than usual. We're trying to show them that Disney is not just for kids. But also I don't want to totally overwhelm them.

Anyway, so I have all my park days, off days and ADRs planned. Now I just need to get everything booked and start on the touring plans for each park. And the "pixie dust" surprises; this year's theme is the 12 Days of Christmas. :goodvibes

If you want something with characters, you could do Chef Mickey, Tusker House, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Cape May is fun for bkfst, Crystal Palace

Welcome! We are going to MVMCP on Dec. 11 too!

Thanks for ALL the warm welcomes!! And for being patient with me, this is my first reply so hopefully, it will look somewhat normal!!!

SES...too cool that we'll be at the MVMCP on the same night, who knows we all may run into each other!!

We had to go to a princess b-day party yesterday and my 3yo daughter wore her Rapunzel dress and my 2 yo son wore a Princess Protection Agency t-shirt. It says Agent Gavin on it!! He had his black sunglasses on to make him look even tougher!!! They were so cute but it made us even more excited about going to Disney in Dec.

Has anyone gone to Mickey's Backyard BBQ in Dec before? I believe I read somewhere that they offer sleigh rides? Sounds like it could be alot of fun and I'm wondering if I should try and adjust the schedule to fit this in.

I will be doing Mickeys Backyard BBQ for the first time it looks like a lot of fun, and then after we will do the sleigh rides, it takes you around fort wilderness and see all the decorations i seen some clips from youtube it looks so much fun!

My preference would be for Tusker House at AK. You get a pic taken with Donald before you go in and the characters circulate well and the food is good. But remember, Tusker House only has Characters for breakfast and lunch. Crystal Palace at MK is never a let down either. And who can resist Pooh and friends.

Another place (and I haven't been there yet, but want to try) is Garden Grill dinner with Chip n Dale at EPCOT. Another character meal I haven't tried is Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at the Polynesian resort.

It's official - we're doing a split stay.

And, even better, I scored a 2 BDR Kidani Savannah View. Every time I checked online I only turned up a Standard View so I had resigned myself to doing 2 separate Savannah view rooms. But I guess today was my lucky day. :wizard:

Of course, this pretty much means no discounts since we now have 2 BDR Villas in both resorts. But I can live with that.

So we're now booked from Dec 3-11 at BWV and Dec 11-15 at Kidani. And I bought my APs. Next step - ADRs on June 6.

I found it!!!

I finally found it. I found the December 2012 Cancelled ADR thread. It turns out that there had been created a while ago but buried in a "sticky".

Tofubeast, could you please add this to your links post? I think once June hits, we ALL will be following this thread like a bloodhound with a grudge.
