I would like to go to DW for our second time in Dec 10 and I would like to stay at the Fort Wilderness Lodge in a cabin. If anyone has any tips and codes so we can schedule our trip plz let me know.. THANKS

If you are looking for December codes then you probably need to post on the Codes and Rates Board here on the Dis. There are some people reporting that they have been getting some email pin codes for December for room discounts. Those email pin codes are non-transferrable and are not for the general public. The general public discount codes are usually announced the end of July/first of August, and they don't usually include Christmas week through New Year's.

I don't know anything about the disney codes, but the best rate I've found for the FW cabins is on Orbitz. The current rate is 20% off Disney's rack rate and there is currently a promotion code (DEALPRO10) for an additional 10% off through July 16th. The only thing with Orbitz is they charge you upon booking. But the good thing is they don't charge you for cancelling. You just have to follow Disney's cancellation policy. So you could always book and then cancel later (at least a week prior to your trip) if you find a better deal later.

If you book a disney resort through Orbitz or other similar travel sites, you can not get a Magic Your Way Package and can not get the dining plan. Also, 20% off is an O.K. discount, but you can pretty much always get 20% off or more with Disney's seasonal promos.

Personally, I would hold out until the end of the month and see what Disney's late fall/winter discounts are, as they should be better than a 20% off discount at Ft. Wilderness.

advice to subscribe to a December code thread on the resorts board. I wouldn't rely solely on that. You can go to the Disney site or this site somewhat frequently and look for the current deals. Both sites make them easy to find.

Mousesavers has a table of when discounts have been offered the last few years. In '06 and '07 they came out in Sept. In '08 Aug and last year July.
