I have been making reservations for our upcoming vacation Dec. 9-12 and seem to have the most difficulty with finding reservations for December 12. I know about the free dining and all and didn't just start looking for reservations. i am just curious if there is some special event going on that I don't know about? I knew someone on here would definitely know....particularly at Hollywood Studios. Thanks in advance for any info.

Its the Sunday following POP Warner with extra magic hours and the Osborne lights are a-twinkling... I can't think of any other reason either but I agree... I do know that we will be heading over there to see the lights that night though so hopefully there isn't something crazy I'm not thinking of. :confused3

We're there 12/10 to 12/14, and dining has been difficult to put it nicely. I finally scored a Liberty Tree dinner, a Coral Reef lunch, and a Chef Mickey's b-fast (at the crack of dawn). I'm checking multiple times a day. The crowd calendars show it to be pretty quiet, but you could have fooled me based on how booked the restaurants are.

From what I've read, Pop Warner ends on the 11th- so I don't think that's having a huge impact on the 12th. We're going to MK that day and Touring Plans shows the crowd should be pretty light. MVMCP is that night- so maybe that's impacting things some.:confused3

I've been stalkng the online system since august and i've managed to get decent restaurants at decent times for groups varying from 2 ppl to 10 ppl during those same exact dates. actually my co-planner and I just finalized everything this past Thurs. Try clicking on a specific time when you search for dining versus just choosing breakfast/lunch/dinner.

I've been stalking WDW sight now for 2 months and finally have everything I wanted. The past couple of weeks everything is starting to disappear. There was more available the 12th-17th but not anymore.I just hope the parks are quiet. ;) :rotfl2:

Well, having been a September traveler through all the Free Dining years, I can say that most of the people on FD must spend most of their time in the restaurants. You can't get a dining reservation anywhere - but there's no one in the park!

So it's possible the same thing is happening in December - lots of people in the restaurants, not so many in the parks doing the attractions.

Thanks so much, I was just curious if there was something that I was missing that was going on that day. It sounds like it just Free Dining though. :)

we're going the 11th-18th too. i booked at 180 days, but have had to make a couple of changes in the past few weeks. i've had to stalk the system too! successfully found a sci-fi adr on the 13th (just tonight actually) for my brother and his wife. still hoping for a lunch at le cellier on the 12th, but not holding my breath.

Yup, you sound just like me....I have been just looking for some different times and it is impossible, but the worst has definitely been the 12th. I'm right there stalking with you.....good luck hopefully there will be cancellations and you'll get it. I know payment is due soon so maybe some will open up. :confused3
